Situated in a location steeped in history, ‘Zeppelin’ is a fascinating 2-bedroom cottage that is built on a site once devastated by the East Anglia air raids of 1915. Its memorable name owing to the German aircraft which conducted numerous attacks across Suffolk during the Great War. Over a century on, you will find this former bomb site has been stunningly transformed into an exceptional 2-bedroom home which offers space, sophistication, and style for your self-catering stay. Zeppelin is more than just a holiday bolthole, but a residential monument of true historical significance. Nestled in the historical riverside town of Woodbridge, Zeppelin has a great deal to offer on the doorstep. The popular Woodbridge high street, with its mix of cafes and shops, is just a stone’s throw away. The River Deben runs alongside Woodbridge and there are some scenic walks to be had along the banks.

Every little detail of this holiday cottage has been considered with the guest experience in mind. The accommodation consists of a stunning open-plan ground floor hosting a bespoke kitchen, a dedicated dining area perfect for sharing stories over a homecooked meal, and a cosy sitting area with plush seating for four – the perfect space for relaxing after exploring this fascinating part of Suffolk. An easy staircase then leads to a first floor consisting of two light and sumptuous bedrooms each with king size beds and generous storage space. The lavish bathroom completes the first floor and is fitted out with a 4 piece bathroom suite.

Location, Location, Location! Zeppelin’s ideal positioning is the real cherry on top. Situated within the quaint, historic market town of Woodbridge, you will have plenty to fill your stay with. Woodbridge thoroughfare is just a 5 minute stroll away and offers much to discover with plenty of interesting shops and cafes. Beyond the centre of the town are the banks of the river Deben, ever changing throughout the seasons and the perfect place for a scenic stroll, a picnic or to merely sketch the yachts as they rise and fall with the tide. Woodbridge itself also boasts the fantastic Riverside Theatre, where you can enjoy its charming cinema or a spot of lunch. The Tide Mill Museum offers a fascinating tour where you can learn about the history and working of the Tide Mill. Within just a 10 minute car journey, you can take a trip to the National Trust site of Sutton Hoo. With its fascinating past and the sites of two early medieval cemeteries, this archaeological site which uncovered the Anglo-Saxon Great Ship Burial is truly a must visit and it is now even the focus of the Netflix film, The Dig! Keen explorers and ornithologists should also plan in a visit to the RSPB Minsmere, approximately half an hours drive away, where you can enjoy idyllic walks, birdwatching and family activities. Other notable spots for a visit include Aldeburgh to enjoy the Suffolk Coast, Snape with riverside walks and the famous concert hall at Snape Maltings, and Orford as another location brimming with history.

So, for a holiday cottage that ticks all the boxes that we think you will want to book again and again, Zeppelin is ideal for your next Suffolk staycation.  Pub: 100 yards, Shop: 0.25 mile.

Why we love this property: Brimming with style and sophistication, Zeppelin has been stunningly transformed into a luxurious holiday home for four guests, whilst reflecting the personality of its surrounding coastal and rural Suffolk environments.

Zepplin cottage was an excellent choice for Woodbridge being only minutes from the town centre and its cafes and restaurants. It was quiet at night and well equipped. We had a great stay.

Zeppelin is a lovely place to stay. Tastefully furnished, comfortable and warm. Also very well-equipped. The location is superb, quiet but close to the town centre, with a great pub just round the corner. We recommend it, and hope to return!

Zeppelin is located on an excellent spot near the center of Woodbridge. A super location for a short walk to city center with its nice shops and pubs/restaurants. Beautiful village near the river Deben, excellent location for walks. Lots to see in the vicinity. We had no issues parking our car in the surrounding streets. The cottage is of high staRead morendard, everything you could think of is available. Good shower and comfortable bed, lots of storage space. Kitchen, living/dining room are perfect spaces to relax after a day roaming around in nearby cities and walks in nature (e.g. National Trust locations). At the moment building activities are taking place at the back of the property. However, the activities of the builders were acceptable for us, since we were on tour most of the day. The activities started at around 8 am (we are early birds, so they did not wake us) and ended at 4 pm. Once the building activities are finished the court yard is still small but more inviting to have a coffee/tea or a drink. Hide

Comfortable beds. Very pleasant Open plan kitchen, dinning room and lounge. Lovely, easy to climb, wide carpeted stairwell with beautiful wide upstairs hallway to lead you to the two beautiful double bedrooms that are thickly carpeted. Spacious and bright Bathroom has bath and shower. Very good condition. The location is perfect and we had no prRead moreoblems finding on street parking nearby. The back bedroom, although very nice, looks straight into other properties located just a few feet away, so blinds need to be down for privacy. And when windows open, for fresh air, you can hear chatter from the neighbors in their garden. All in all, everything suited us extremely well. We loved the place. Hide

Having completed our stay at the Zepplin cottage last week, I would just like to feedback that the information I got prior to our stay (see email chain) was quite disingenuous and unfair. The scaffolding is not up 'just for a roof repair' ... it is there for a complete building renovation next door. Had a level on honesty been given on this, I woulRead mored not have stayed in the property. In a way we were lucky it was the Easter holiday, but the noise on the wed, thur and fri was very very loud throughout the day from very early in the morning. This property should not be being let out while there is a complete building renovation going on next door. At the very least a honest description of the situation should be given ... as paying 800 is a lot of money to be next to a building site. Very unimpressed. Stephen. Hide

Great location - everything you need is only a short walk away. Although advised about the next door building works - NO mention was made of the local street closures and roadworks (with attendant noise and whistling workmen) that had clearly started well before our holiday. (The work dates were 10/3 to 6/4) The general arrangement for refuse colRead morelection/recycling is at best perfunctory and not a good advertisement for visitors to Suffolk. Hide

The house is lovely and the location excellent. The weather was wonderful while we were there, but unfortunately it meant the sun poured into the bedroom from 5 ish plus the fact that the next door house was being renovated with banging staring at 7.15, obviously just unlucky timing. The owner did offer us an extra day as an apology, ( there was alRead moreso trouble with the TV! )which we would love to have accepted but we had an appointment back home. Despite these few problems we loved our time at Zeppelin and plan to return. Hide
