The kitchen is very well equipped for preparing food, if you're not tempted to eat out at any one of the many pubs and restaurants in the area. There is plenty of walking in the Brede High Woods and beyond the village is the market town of Rye with its famous cobbled streets, antique shops, pubs and restaurants. Local vineyards also make for a great day out. The Sussex coastline is particularly stunning with seven miles of golden sand at Camber and fantastic dunes to explore. Other places to visit close by are Battle, with its ruined Abbey and battlefields, Hastings and the famous house and gardens at Great Dixter in Northiam.
