Doves Barn has been converted into a luxury property for two, offering a spacious interior and has been beautifully decorated throughout.  This beautiful pet-friendly property is set in the grounds of the owners house in the small village of Broad Oak with its own drive and private parking.  The open plan living area is modern and stylish with local artwork on the walls, a large comfy sofa in front of the wood burning stove and a spiral staircase to first floor bedroom. The kitchen is very well equipped for preparing food, if you're not tempted to eat out at any one of the many pubs and restaurants in the area. There is plenty of walking in the Brede High Woods and beyond the village is the market town of Rye with its famous cobbled streets, antique shops, pubs and restaurants.  Local vineyards also make for a great day out.  The Sussex coastline is particularly stunning with seven miles of golden sand at Camber and fantastic dunes to explore.  Other places to visit close by are Battle, with its ruined Abbey and battlefields, Hastings and the famous house and gardens at Great Dixter in Northiam.

Dove Barn is ideally situated for visiting a number of places on the borders of Kent and Sussex. It is very well equipped including a lot of local information, even including two very up to date OS maps which were really useful. The bed was very comfortable as others have commented. There is a shop and pub within walking distance and we visited Read morethe latter for Sunday lunch which was very good. We have a dog and used a Woodland Trust forest that is close to the property but there are many other dog walking areas in the vicinity. Thoroughly recommended. Hide

We had a very good few days at Doves Barn, it is very well situated to explore that part of Kent and Sussex. Doves Barn is well appointed and very comfortable. It felt very secluded set in its own grounds.

A beautiful village cottage for a country retreat / exploring the surrounding area. My wife and I had a short break here and loved it - larger than it appears on the pictures (especially the upstairs bedroom which is the length of the property), well stocked and perfectly presented, quiet, lovely country pub walking distance nearby, etc. etc.

Beautifully presented, unique property that felt incredibly special and private. The kitchen had EVERYTHING. It was spotlessly clean without feeling clinical. Warm and cosy - the log burner heats impressively! The mattress was divine, as was sleeping in complete dark and silence. Absolutely super base for a walking with the dog holiday.
