A grand Victorian house with some of the best views in Fowey from the wide bay windows and the paved terrace at the front with its glass balustrade. Set in an elevated position on the famous Esplanade a fabulous, panoramic vista stretches before you across the harbour taking in Polruan, Pont Pill, the ruins of St Catherine’s Castle and right out to sea. You’ll find yourself spending time watching all the activity on the water as the pleasure craft, fishing boats and occasional cruise ship make their way along the estuary. A 5 minute walk will take you to the foot ferry to Polruan or the sheltered, sandy beach at Readymoney Cove and from here you can join the coast path towards Gribbin Head for spectacular views and places of historical interest. The main hub of independent shops, galleries and eateries is a short stroll away but the beauty of this house is that its position up a private path ensures that it is not overlooked and is tucked away from passing traffic.

66 Esplanade is set across three floors with the living accommodation on the first floor and is designed to make the most of the marvellous outlook. The front entrance door leads into a spacious hallway and on to the main bedroom, a twin room, bathroom and utility room with rear entrance door. An open-plan kitchen/dining/living room takes up most of the first floor and there is a handy shower room on this level also. Two further bedrooms are found on the third floor set in the eaves with some lovely characterful features. This very well-equipped house has good proportions, is decorated in a warm coastal palette and feels bright and welcoming.

GROUND FLOOR:
Entrance porch with space for coats and shoes.
Bedroom 1: King size bed (5’), bedside tables, chest of drawers, wardrobe, hairdryer, window seat and fantastic sea views.
Bedroom 2: Twin beds (3’), bedside table, storage unit and door to utility room.
Bathroom: ¾ size bath with hand-held mixer shower, separate thermostatic shower, basin, w.c. heated towel rail, shaver socket.
Utility Room: Washer/dryer, fridge, freezer, drying rack and door to rear entrance reached by private path off St Fimbarrus Road

FIRST FLOOR:
Living Area: Range of comfy seating, Freeview TV, Fire stick, BluRay DVD player, ornamental fireplace, window seat with uninterrupted sea views.
Kitchen/Dining Area: 5 ring gas hob, electric oven, extractor fan, larder fridge, dishwasher, Nespresso capsule coffee-maker, range of kitchen appliances, radio/CD player and large dining table and chairs.
Shower room: Thermostatic double-head shower, basin, heated towel rail. Separate w.c.

SECOND FLOOR:

GARDEN & PARKING: Front terrace at ground floor level with outdoor furniture, barbecue and fantastic views. Some on-street parking available to the rear and along Esplanade in front. Alternative parking in the large public main car park where a weekly rover ticket gives access to most council car parks across Cornwall.

Power and Heat: Electricity and gas included in price. Central heating and heated towel rails in bathrooms.

It is also accessed from the rear with steps leading down from a private path off St Fimbarrus Road. Some people like to come in at the back and go out at the front!

We loved the house and had a really wonderful time. The equipment in the kitchen was brilliant, so often in holiday houses the knives are blunt, there is no casserole dish and the glasses are limited but that was not the case here. The beds were very comfortable, heating system easy to use, we were very pleased. Everything was really wonderful and Read morewe would very much like to rent the house again. Thank you! Hide

Great location , lovely cosy feel to the house nice and warm . Great kitchen and facilities . Needs new mattresses though- hard and uncomfortable. Everything else excellent

A well equipped, easy to manage holiday home with an outstanding and comfortable view of the harbour. Guests with impaired mobility should beware the steep approach from the Esplanade. Worth it though when you get there!

We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone. The views are spectacular, the living space very comfortable, clean and well equipped. It's a very short walk (5 minutes) to the heart of Fowey. Other than getting there in the first place, it's easy to manage without a vehicle (there is no place to park a car). We found Fowey charming,Read more with plenty of restaurant choices, several wonderful bakeries and pubs, and adequate groceries for a short holiday. Walking paths abound, and the 10 minute ferry to Polruan makes the Coastal walk on that side easily accessible. I especially recommend the Hall Walk. Bedrooms are on the 1st and 3rd floor, with the living space in the middle. With two couples this was ideal because we had our own space (although the 3rd floor does not have a bathroom - there is one just down the stairs on the 2nd floor.) There are beds enough for 8 people, but I think you'd feel crowded with more than 6 in the living areas. Hide

Wonderful location, very convenient for reaching the beach and town. The view is absolutely beautiful. The house is well equipped with a lovely homely feel. The access for unloading luggage is a little tricky, worth considering for anyone with mobility issues. We really enjoyed our stay.

What an amazing location - we sat each morning in the bay window and it never got old! Fowey is wonderful and so much beautiful coastline to explore. We paddle boarded from Ready Money Beach (5 min walk) and Polkerris well worth the trip. Gardens of Heligan good trip as well.
