If the stunning sea views from the first floor living room weren’t exceptional enough, the secret garden perched on the cliff in front of the property provides a little oasis that will make you fall in love with this property. Located on Mount Pleasant Road in Porthleven, the property looks out over the iconic clock tower on the harbours edge with furnishings inspired by mid-century St Ives artists and original artworks by local artists throughout. Storm chasers from all over the county flock to this location during bad weather to witness the waves crashing over the clock tower and into the harbour; it really is worth enduring the bad weather to see! On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen and dining room, as well as a twin bedroom and shower room. On the first floor is the spacious living area with open fire and stunning sea views, along with the master bedroom and family bathroom. Unfortunately this property is unable to accommodate pets or children under 10 years.

Porthleven is a bustling fishing harbour in West Cornwall and offers a great selection of restaurants, shops and pubs that are open all year round. From Easter to October there is a local craft market during the weekends, with the famous food and music festival in the spring time that sees thousands of visitors flock to the harbour for a weekend full of food, drink and great entertainment. There are plenty of sandy beaches dotted along this stretch of coastline, with Praa Sands and Perranuthnoe popular for surfers. The historic site of St Michael’s Mount is just a 15 minute drive away; a great place to spend the afternoon with the whole family.

There were things that could have been better e.g. the damp smell in the downstairs bedroom and the condensation on the rear windows. So some 'tlc' is obviously needed. However, it is an old property and it is November so windows could not be left open to compensate. The television did not work through the hub but it worked through the Samsung scRead morereen on IPlayer. Having commented on what we thought could be improved, we must say that we really did enjoy the week - particularly as the weather was kind to us and we could use the garden with its 'amazing views' every day. The cottage is also quaint and has a quiet calm to it - which we found most refreshing. Hide

This is a lovely cottage that we have been returning to over a number of year. It has a great location with lovely sea views and parking for a single car on a road on which it would otherwise be be difficult to park. It has a well equipped kitchen for when we want to cook in but easy access to a good range of resturants and pubs around the harbouRead morer when we don't. The main downside to this cottage is that is now starting to look tired and in need of some well deserving TLC. Hide

We had a fabulous stay at St Michaels and we were sorry to have to leave, it was a good base for all we wanted to do and allowed us to relax in a beautiful setting with all the comforts of home.

Location, availability of a parking space, and view from garden was excellent. Walks locally are beautiful. Local shops very good. Property itself was tired and could do with decorating and updating (leaking taps etc) and 2 days of managing the leaking kitchen window should not be a part of a holiday. No internet/Wi-Fi for the weeks holiday which wRead moreas known about before we arrived but not communicated to us. Welcome pack of a small amount of milk and coal/logs would have been helpful to tide you over first night, as would instructions on how to operate heaters, kitchen one never did work. Check out time was 10am however cleaner knocking on door before this time!! Overall we had a lovely holiday due to location Hide

We have stayed in many properties in Porthleven over the years. This was the second time that weve stayed in St Michaels. We chose it this year primarily because there is a downstairs bedroom and bathroom which was ideal for our elderly guests and the garden with its wonderful view. Two things that were disappointing is that the window in the ceiliRead moreng above the kitchen window still leaks, as it did in 2019 and that the bedroom decorations really do need to be updated. A first for me was to find a note asking us to strip all the beds and bag the bedding up before we left. Im sorry but we didnt do that. a) we didnt have time as we were requested to vacate the property by 10am, and b) the cost of hiring this cottage included this service in the first place. That all said, on balance, we would probably return again if this sleeping style of accommodation was required. Hide

Location is great and the cleanliness was good as well. The decor was a bit tired in places but overall we were very happy there.
