Dowr Penty is a picturesque whitewashed cottage set in the village of Helford. With its white picket fence and creek at the end of the garden you know you are in the heart of Daphne Du Maurier country.

Downstairs there is a living room with wood burning stove and comfy sofas. There is a separate dining room with wooden floors and open fireplace, and a well-equipped kitchen. A handy shower room is also on the ground floor. Upstairs the romantic master bedroom boasts a king-size four poster bed, and there are two further bedrooms; one twin and one single. There is a luxurious bathroom with bath and power shower.

Outside there is a pretty patio garden next to the stream, with a BBQ and parking.

Helford is a village steeped in history, and the perfect location for exploring The Lizard, Falmouth and surrounding area on land or by water.

Adjacent to the property is a pretty courtyard with garden furniture, chiminea, kettle barbecue and creek. Parking for 1 car.

The cottage was warm and cosy, and very well equipped, perfect after long coastal walks. Helford was such a pretty place and we found everyone local, in the shop and pub friendly. We enjoyed great weather for February and the village was lovely and quiet. Super walking along the river and around. Have already recommended to friends!

Beautifully presented and comfortable cottage in stunning Helford. Well kitted out. Stylishly decorated, with a homely feel. Wood burner was very appreciated during a winter cold snap. Highly recommended.

Lovely, well equipped property, well placed for all the coastal path can offer. Very friendly local pub. Follow the directions given, and don't use a satnav or you will end up going down the narrowest road in Cornwall!

This is a very nice cottage in a lovely location. It is well equipped with a good modern kitchen and bathroom. The bed in the main bedroom is brilliant and much appreciated.

When we arrived there was water running down the road outside clearly not a new problem. The water pressure in the cottage was really low and you could hear the constant running of water to fill the tank. I am not sure how the housekeeping team could not notice this. We reported it and a plumber came but it did mean we had no water for anything forRead more a while and no shower. This was followed by no hot water the next day so two days disrupted. The plumber was great and not his fault but I think all this could have been avoided. It did upset our week. Hide

Dowr Penty is a beautifully presented property in a prime location in the pretty village of Helford. It also benefits from a parking area which is a real bonus. We have quite a large vehicle but could have easily got a smaller car in the space too. A nice quiet sitting out area is located behind the parking spaces by the small stream. The cottage Read morehad everything provided we could possibly need. The kitchen is fabulous and is very well equipped, clean with modern appliances. Instructions are provided in a folder on how to work everything which is very helpful. The upstairs bathroom is fabulous but there is also the added bonus of a downstairs wet room with shower, loo and wash basin. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linen and towels provided were spotlessly clean. The cottage is a credit to its owners and the people who make it ready for the guests each week. Had a lovely Christmas at Dowr Penty. My husband and I stayed here many years ago and the improvements that have been made were lovely especially the kitchen bathroom and now the extra shower room which is much better for four/five guests.

We have had the most wonderful week in this lovely cottage, our 9th visit to Helford but the first staying in Dowr Penty. Loved the kitchen and bathrooms, so well equipped and great quality. Two enjoyable meals in the Shipwrights and fish and chips from Sids van in Manaccan Tuesday evening, to be recommended. We have had yet another wonderful stay in this lovely cottage in such a special place. This is the earliest in the year that we have visited, and we have really enjoyed the beautiful hedgerows and woodland at this point in Spring. The weather has been especially kind, with sunny days every day, so we have spent lots of time in the water, on the wRead moreater, and on the beaches. Have thoroughly enjoyed our favourite walks including the Frenchmans Creek loop via Kestle Barton, the loop to St. Anthonys (coming back along the coast path), and Durgan to Maenporth loop. We all so treasure our annual trip to Dowr Penty thank you. Hide
