Set on the hillside, overlooking Pentewan Valley and the surrounding countryside, Edgehill has been a family home for 20 years, and is now available to rent as your holiday home. The house enjoys spectacular views and is set in a beautiful garden laid to lawn and terracing planted with shrubs and flowers. There are several areas in sun or shade to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of a Cornish garden, along with songbirds in the surrounding trees. The garden is a haven to escape the bustle of life. The sunsets over the hills opposite add to the spectacular setting.

The kitchen is equipped with modern units, a range cooker with fan oven and another electric oven and grill. The hob is gas. Walk in larder, containing a large fridge/freezer and shelving for food. To the rear of the dining room is a small snug complete with an iPod docking station and easy chair, perfect for watching the chef at work! The dining area overlooks the valley and bay and has seating for eight. There is a utility room with butler sink and a separate shower room which is accessible from the garden, making it perfect after a day at the beach.

The spacious living room is to the right of the hall and stairway and is comfortably furnished with an L-shaped sofa and an open cosy fire. Large Smart TV with Blu-Ray player and Freeview. The WiFi is superfast broadband with BT hub (60Mb!). The living room has lovely views of the garden and over the valley down to Pentewan Sands.

Upstairs in the loft is a super king-sized bed (which can be 3' singles on request) with en-suite shower room. There is a small dressing area at the foot of the stairway leading to the 2nd floor. The bedrooms on the first floor are a super king (which can be 3' singles on request), a room with 3' twin beds ( which can be a king-size on request) and a single. The king and twin beds are at the front of the house and enjoy dual aspect views over the garden and valley below. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, basin and WC.

Outside there is a large garden and a lovely brick and slate open-sided pavilion with table and chairs and a wood-fired oven, perfect for roasting meat and pizzas. Additional outside dining facilities on the front terrace and a traditional BBQ. The driveway has plenty of parking with steps down to the house and there are also steps leading down to the coastal path, the village and the beach.

The house is warm and cosy with CH and the log stove, the changing seasons all have something to offer with the colours of autumn, bracing winter walks, springtime with an abundance of birds, tree blossom and bluebells. Many of the local places to visit including Mevagissey, Charlestown, Fowey, the Eden project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and National trust properties are all less busy than in the main season. Pentewan village itself has a lovely tea room, a homely local pub with good food and various themed evenings such as quiz night and music.

Christmas and New Year are quite special with lights and an Xmas tree, and an evening of carols, in the square. The pub is vibrant with special seasonal events.

Lovely big house and light inside. Plenty of places to sit in the garden in the sun or shade. The steps from the terrace up to the house are very steep and would be a challenge for elderly people. Only a hundred yards along the terrace to the coastal walk. Nice woodland walk close by. Dog proof, only if it is a small dog.

The cottage is stunning as well as its well maintained garden and outdoor areas. It's extremely well equipped for a family. Two downstairs toilets and bathrooms on every floor made for a clean tribe. We BBQ'd and used the pizza oven, this was our first time and whilst not easy great instructions were left to use the Pizza Oven effectively. PentewanRead more itself is a great base and we explored the nearby wonders by foot and car. We made contact with the owner for help with a minor issue which they responded and resolved immediately. Would recommend for a family break with pets. Hide

A lovely house with spectacular views. Comfortable and spacious with lots of great touches. We had 4 adults and 2 young children and plenty of space. Beware steep access to both parking areas. Top of the house is a short steep incline. To the lower parking area there are 67 steep steps without a railing - this was tricky to navigate with a buggy anRead mored child in arms. Local roads are steep and narrow with passing places. Hide

Property is fabulous, has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Location is great to get around and is in walking distance to the best place we ate all holiday (Ship Inn). Will definitely be looking to return in 2026.

We loved our stay here, it was very homely and in a great location. Perfect for our family holiday in Cornwall. The stairs kept us fit which helped with all the food we ate in the local pubs! Would definitely go back. We loved everything about it.

We loved our time at Edgehill - the views are stunning and house very well equipped. The outdoor pizza oven and BBQ were particularly well used! Everyone was also a little fitter after climbing the steps everyday! The owner has thought of everything that might be needed. Definitely recommend

The views from the house are lovely as are the gardens. The house is well supplied with cooking utensils and crockery and very comfortable. Part of the bannister rail is not fully accessible for part of the stairway and really needs a handrail on both sides.

Had a relaxing stay, great garden for sunbathing and dining when weather is favourable! All facilities within short walk and access to the SW coastal path .one to watch is the restriction for Dogs on the beach from March to November, however lots of trails to explore with four legged friends.

Fantastic cottage in an absolute perfect setting. The views were stunning and everything you could need was provided. The beds and furnishings were comfortable and it was a joy to sit on the porch chairs to watchbthe sun go down. As promised the beach was a 10 minute walk away but be aware there were many steps and a steep path involved. That pluRead mores the changing levels of the garden should be born in mind when booking. Lovely views, good location for visiting central Cornwall. A nice walk up the Pentewan valley to the Polgooth Inn for a really top class menu & friendly atmosphere. The Ship Inn in the village is also worth a visit. Mevagissey needs no introduction!

STUNNING!!!!! 6 of us (4 adults, 2 children) have just returned from an AMAZING week at the very spacious edgehill. The holiday house does have that wow factor with stunning views from the large terrace and is perfectly located to visit all the surrounding areas attractions, plus with the local beach only a leisurely 8 minute walk, meant we could hRead moreave beach days and not have to worry about driving and parking etc. if your reading this review and considering staying here I'd recommend snapping up the opportunity to book your date before anyone else does.
