Property code: OC-GWYLAN

Kick back and enjoy the stunning views from Gwylan House, a unique seaside retreat perfectly positioned to enjoy the delights of Mousehole. This charming granite cottage nestles on a quiet footpath, off the tourist track and yet literally a few steps from the seashore and a couple of minute’s walk to Mousehole’s pub, restaurants and galleries. Enjoy a coffee in bed as you watch the little harbour slowly come to life each morning, or listen to the gentle lapping of the tide as you drift off to sleep at night.

This Grade II listed former fisherman’s cottage has been lovingly extended to offer spacious accommodation. Tastefully decorated in relaxing, tranquil tones, it combines traditional character with modern home comforts, including superfast broadband. Accommodation comprises a very well-fitted kitchen/breakfast room with Miele appliances and dining table. This leads to a utility room with hanging/drying space, a shower, and a separate wc. The lounge has comfy seating, a Smart TV and enjoys views overlooking the harbour. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a king and a double room to the front of the property, both with Hypnos mattresses and sea and harbour views, and up a further few steps to the rear of the property is a single bedroom. This room has an additional pull-out bed suitable for an extra child. The family bathroom is on the first floor with shower over bath. There is an abundance of storage space, with built-in cupboards in all the bedrooms.

Step outside the front door, and take a stroll around the winding lanes of Mousehole, a quintessentially Cornish fishing village with a popular pub, restaurants, cafes and galleries. Soak up the sun on the safe little sandy beach, or take a boat tour from the harbour and view the rugged coastline from the sea. If you can drag yourself away from Mousehole, Gwylan House is an ideal base for exploring West Cornwall. There are magnificent coastal walks on your doorstep, including to lovely Lamorna Cove and onward to the stunning beach at Porthcurno and the spectacular Minack Theatre. For those less active days, the bus stop is a couple of minute’s walk away - take a bus to Penzance, or jump off at Newlyn and catch a film at the popular Newlyn Filmhouse. Penzance, about 3 miles from Mousehole, offers rail and bus links to the rest of Cornwall and beyond.

Relax at Gwylan and watch the Cornish sun setting over the sea, or take a glass of wine down to the water’s edge and watch the world go by. Simply enjoy.

This is a well presented, well equipped cottage, sleeping 4 or 5 comfortably in the spacious rooms. The views for the front aspect windows are lovely and as we stayed over the Christmas period, it was nice to be welcomed by a twinkling Christmas tree as well as the Mousehole Harbout Lights (on every night from 5pm). We enjoyed the mince pies and PrRead moreosecco and other welcome goodies, and thought that Gwylan House was perfect for our holiday needs. Hide

Probably the best Cornwall cottage we have ever stayed in, super location, well appointed, spotlessly clean and good information supplied.

An extremely comfortable, light, and well equipped Holiday Cottage. It was a delight to have been able to stay at Gwylan. We would have liked to stay longer.

My husband and I had a lovely week at this delightful cottage, chosen for its location in the centre of Mousehole and views of the harbour. The views from two of the bedrooms are stunning. The cottage is very well equipped for self-catering, the kitchen has everything you could need, the living room is cosy and the bed that we used was very comforRead moretable. It was nice to have two bathrooms with the choice of walk-in shower or a bath with overhead shower. The only downside for us was the difficulty of getting our luggage and assorted bags to the property from the South Quay car park. Theres a well stocked and reasonably priced deli nearby (No 1 Deli). Mousehole is a lovely location for a quiet break and we would definitely return. Were already missing the sea views. Hide

We felt at home the moment we arrived. Nothing was spared. The bedding, decor and views were just fabulous as was the close proximity to the village. Couldve stayed longer.

What a beautiful cottage, so complete and nicely decorated. Very clean. It is like coming home. Everything you can think of is there plus welcome gift. Fantastic views of the harbour, very cozy place. No terrace but there is a bench in front of the cottage near the water where you can sit, eat, drink and enjoy.

Wow wow wow! Do you want a stunningly well equipped cottage in the heart of Mousehole? Stop looking because you've just found it. We spent 5 days at Gwylan House for Christmas. On arrival the property had clearly been specially prepared and decorated for Christmas which was a brilliant little touch. It was very near the harbour (you can hear the waRead moreves when lying in bed), less than 5 minutes walk to the Ship so perfect to base yourself out of. The cottage is a home from home with everything you need. Beautiful bathroom facilities, power showers which put the fire brigade to shame, comfortable beds and lots of little extras that just make you feel more at home. Sometimes you stay in a holiday home an the fitment is 'okay for a week' but from the kitchen, the the bathrooms, through the beds, this is property which has been prepared to a stunningly high standard. In the living room we found a cupboard full of games and even a pair of binoculars for looking out whilst one of the bedrooms had a great selection of reading material. Hide

Our first trip to Mousehole and were unbelievably lucky with the weather - 6 nights and the best sunshine of the last 2 months! The cottage is beautifully presented and really tasteful decor and artwork. We went to see Evita at the Minnack which was amazing and have just had a memorable holiday with lots of laughter (and too much wine and food!).
