This pretty semi-detached weather boarded cottage is situated in a fabulous location right on the edge of Bewl Water.  It has stunning views from the ground floor raised terrace and also from its first floor roof terrace.  Bewl Cottage has been beautifully renovated and offers stylish and comfortable modern family living with a spacious sitting room and a kitchen/dining room with fabulous far reaching views across the water.  There are bi-folding doors from the dining area onto the terrace which is perfect for watching the wildlife and letting the relaxing effect of the water lap over you.  The cottage is generously proportioned with 3 bedrooms and 2 shower rooms and the master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and roof terrace. There is access straight from the garden onto the reservoir for walking and there is a 13 mile cycle trail around Bewl through woodlands and meadows with a stop off at the nearby pub, The Bull, at Three Leg Cross for a welcome drink.  Nearby is the pretty town of Ticehurst offering local independent craft and vintage stores, cafes and a local foodie pub.  Royal Tunbridge Wells is a short drive away and offers more extensive dining and shopping opportunities. This area of Sussex borders closely with Kent and has an abundance of National Trusts properties such as Bodiam and Scotney Castles and the beautiful gardens at Sissinghurst and Pashley Manor. There are golf course at Dale Hill and Lamberhurst and Bedgebury Pinetum is a wonderful place to wander through the ancient pine trees and there is also a Go Ape site for the more adventurous.

This was probably the best stay I have had for many years. the location was, of course, wonderful but the property itself was way beyond what I expected; clean, nicely furnished with plenty of space, everything worked. Wonderful location, well appointed comfortable cottage, great base for visiting local attractions. Welcome pack with delicious cake a very nice touch. Spoilt for choice with upstairs and ground floor balconies to enjoy the view and wildlife at Bewl Water. We particularly enjoyed watching a grey heron fishing for its supper in the shallow water by tRead morehe shore. One point to note, the cottage is located on a badly pot holed single track lane, not the responsibility of the home owners but maybe better not to take a lower suspensioned car. Also, visibility when leaving the driveway not ideal but mirrors to view oncoming traffic would really help. Overall a wonderful property in a beautiful location. Hide
