Crud y Wennol provides stylish, idyllic and pet friendly accommodation for two in a new barn conversion. In a peaceful yet accessible location within 5 miles of Bala’s famous lake and several tourist attractions, Crud y Wennol offers a perfect base for relaxing holidays and short breaks for couples. Enjoy watersports, walking, exploring beautiful Welsh market towns, steam train and canal rides, plenty of good restaurants and much more.

Ground Floor

Kitchen/diner and lounge area – this newly converted barn has retained many of its original beams and features.

The kitchen/diner has slate flooring, light modern fitted kitchen units with built in fridge with freezer compartment, microwave and cooker. The dining table seats three and there is a relaxing sofa for reading or watching television.

Upstairs

Modern illuminated oak stairs lead to the first floor and an open plan bedroom which is light and airy with high ceilings. The room benefits from solid oak flooring and doors together with traditional beams. There are side cabinets on both sides of the double bed and the additional benefit of a television.

A fully tiled en-suite bathroom with an over bath shower, toilet, sink and heated towel rail.

Garden

As a couples retreat, there is also a lovely garden to relax and enjoy the vast, calming countryside views. Situated at the back of the property, the garden is enclosed with a fence and has patio furniture.

Additional Information

  • Crud y Wennol is one of two semi-detached cottages and is next to Crud y Werin which sleeps 4. This would, if required, provide accommodation for 6 guests in total.
  • Bed linen, hand and bath towels and hairdryer provided.
  • Heating and electricity included.
  • Dog welcome – 1 small dog for an additional charge of £25 (payable on arrival).
  • Cot, high chair and stair gate provided on request.
  • Washing machine and tumble dryer available in outside building (shared with cottage next door). £3 per hour wash and £3 per half hour dry.
  • Short breaks for couples available all year round
  • Parking spaces outside the cottage.

We had a wonderful week at this charming cottage. It had everything we needed, and the setting was peaceful and picturesque tucked away off the main road with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The location is ideal, just a short 8-minute drive to Bala, making it a great base for exploring the area. Ann, the owner, gave us such a warm Read morewelcome and had even left thoughtful treats for us wine, biscuits, bara brith, and milk in the fridge. It was such a kind touch and really made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The cottage was spotless, well-equipped, and incredibly quiet perfect for a relaxing break. This was one of the nicest and definitely warmest cottages we've stayed in. The view from the bedroom window was spectacular. The owner was a lovely bubbly person who made sure we had everything we needed. The welcome pack of wine, Welsh biscuits and Bara Brith was a very nice gesture.

Absolutely superb. We had a warm welcome from the owner when we arrived at the cottage. The cottage was lovely with a homely feel as soon as we walked in. It was well kept, clean and perfect for just the two of us. The location was exactly what we were looking for within easy reach of the areas we wished to visit. It was nice to sit in the private Read moregarden in the evening with a glass of wine. The welcome package left for us by the owner was a nice touch. We will definitely be returning for another stay. This cottage is so beautiful, so clean and very welcoming. It is comfy and very homely. Owner is lovely and welcoming too. There are lots of places in the surrounding area to explore. We are definitely booking again.

We enjoyed our stay very much and the cottage is a good size for two people (and a dog). It is well equipped, extremely clean and an interesting design, having a mezzanine bedroom and en suite bathroom. There is a lawned garden at the rear with good views over the valley and as the farmer was hay cutting we were lucky enough to see several red kiteRead more. The cottage is ideal for one or two people. Parking is available outside the front door for one car, but there is space 20m or so away for more cars. The rooms are a good size and the bathroom excellent. I had a dog with me and it's not obvious but to access the enclosed garden requires walking out the front door and around the side so care should Read morebe taken as it is a working farm. It is an ideal location for exploring the Clywidian Hills and Snowdonia with Betwys y Coed, Bala and Llangollen not too far distant. Loved this little cottage near Bala. Just 2 rental cottages on the plot and 2 other tenanted properties across and up from the semi cottages. It was quiet, beautiful little garden (entrance through gate at side of the cottage) with magnificent views. You do need to drive to get anywhere as main road just off the farm is fast moving and has no pavemRead moreents. Very comfortable and cosy cottage. Well equipped, with everything required. Very clean. A lovely welcome pack on arrival. The owner was very friendly and explained what was required on arrival. I enjoyed a very relaxing stay and enjoyed the stunning surroundings.
