Ours was a very successful stay in a comfortable and helpfully compact cottage. The standard of equipment was excellent, and all was abundantly clean. The patio area was particularly welcome as a sun-trap (we had very good weather) and the views of hills and mountains from the location were in themselves worth the visit. The village has a superblyRead more stocked shop, with newspapers, and its personnel were enormously helpful and pleasant. A modest restaurant and bar is 300m away. For fishing and walks, the lake is a five minute drive, if that, Fuel is on hand immediately on the Bala Road opposite the exit from the village. The garage at one end of the village was very helpful. The proprietor of the property made us instantly welcome, including a cake. Undisturbed sleep. Hide

We had a wonderful week. The cottage is fully equipped. The heating quickly warms the house up after a long walk. There's a comfortable sofa, TV (with internet), Wi-Fi (a bit slow at times), oven, microwave, dishwasher, hob, towels, dishwasher tablets, soap, salt, pepper, sugar, pans, microwave-safe containers, sharp knives, and plenty of other kitRead morechenware. Be sure to bring an adapter as UK plugs are different from those in other countries. The owner, Iona, is a very friendly woman who is always available if you need anything or have any questions. She lives next to Becws Clyd but respects your privacy. There's plenty of space to park your car next to the house. Be careful when driving away, as the road in front is often busy with cars and the occasional bus. We weren't bothered by traffic. North Wales is so beautiful! In between all the showers we made many beautiful walks in dry weather and sunshine. This was our second visit and we'd love to return if we ever visit Wales again. Hide

Owner was very welcoming but not intrusive of our weekend, rang us on the Friday as we arrived to check we were ok with everything and then called around on Saturday to make sure we had settled in ok and if we needed anything. Would recommend this place to stay if you want a quiet get away for a weekend, as the weather was so bad with storm Amy we didnt venture far so cannot comment on what there is to do locally, we just hunkered down and enjoyed the relax time!
