Located in the heart of the historic quarter of the village, close to a variety of independent shops, cafes and pubs, this cosy and attractive 19th Century cottage is a lovely base for couples to enjoy the twin Exmoor villages of Lynton & Lynmouth.  In a small pedestrian area of the village, The Den is laid out over three floors accessed by steep staircases and low thresholds and with a room on each floor. Compact yet thoughtfully designed this delightful stone cottage is furnished in a comfortable modern style. On the ground floor a good quality kitchen/diner has an ample range of units and is equipped with all you would need for dining in. Stairs lead up to a very comfortable living room with a wood burner to provide a warm retreat no matter what the season. On the top floor the staircase opens out into a compact double room (access only on one side of the bed) with en suite facilities.  This popular Exmoor village is surrounded by spectacular Exmoor countryside. Breath-taking coast, country and riverside walks are easily accessible, with abundant wildlife including wild goats in the Valley of the Rocks, red deer and Exmoor ponies in the surrounding countryside. The twin village of Lynmouth with its riverside walks, harbourside pubs, restaurants and large manor green overlooking the sea is linked by road, exhilarating footpath or the famous Victorian, water powered cliff railway.  The location offers an ideal base to relax, enjoy invigorating outdoor pursuits or visit many famous beauty spots in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and enjoy magical night skies in Europe's first 'dark sky reserve'. The full splendour of Exmoor, the golden coast surfing beaches around Woolacombe, and the pretty villages and market towns in this beautiful part of Devon are also all within 40 minutes drive.

Nice quirky cottage. Clean, comfortable and great location. Even though you are in the middle of town its very quiet. There is everything you need for a self catering holiday. Bed is nice and comfortable too. My only slight criticism would be that there needs to be more hanging space for clothes. Would of been OK for a long weekend but not enougRead moreh room for 2 people for a week. Also just to point out the stair are very steep. I would recommend to anyone physically fit. (stairs) Hide

Comfortable bijou cottage over 3 floors. Located right in the heart of Lynton, good cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops right on the doorstep which is ideal. Accommodation is fine for 2 active people who are out and about every day. Stairs could be an issue if someone has mobility issues but i think this is mentioned in the property details. Perfectly situated in the heart of Lynton, The Den sits within a very short walk of great places to eat and the local independent shops. It was our base for 10 days and very clean and comfortable. It was our third stay and I am sure we will be back! Hide
