Overstrand is a beautiful village on the Norfolk coast with an array of interesting buildings including three by Edward Lutyens, giving this village a wealth of charm. Still a reasonably undiscovered area on the Norfolk coast, it’s great for walks with family and friends along the vast stretch of golden, sandy beach. The quaint village shop, restaurants and pub are within walking distance in this idyllic village, which also boasts a wonderful clifftop café. From Sea Salt's bedroom window you can watch the fishermen harvest crabs and lobsters and then you can buy them fresh at the shop on the clifftop. Just two miles away is the Victorian seaside town of Cromer, a great place to go for a traditional fish and chips, take in an end of pier show or tee off at the Royal Cromer Golf Course. You may decide to catch a steam train from the neighbouring town of Sheringham, where the end of the line takes you to the elegant Georgian town of Holt, a lovely place to explore that is filled with individual, independent shops and eateries.

Lovely little village. Short drive/walk in to Cromer (approx 2 miles). Nice walk/run along the coastal path. Be warned though that the path directly behind the property is closed due to subsidence, however we climbed over the barrier during our run. Quite a steep slope leading to and from the waters edge. So access by persons with limited mobility Read morewould definitely be an issue. However, it's a sweet little village with a decent cafe, hotel/restaurant and boozer. There are also a nearby golf club, range and country club which I'm sure would suit some people. Would recommend the Baan Thai restaurant in Cromer, The Suffield Arms I'm near Cromer, and The Recruiting Sargent in Horsted for decent dining experiences. Although The Fox and The Black Boys were also recommended to us but we didn't have time to go. Hide

Great property. We had a brilliant weather week, and this place is probably unbeatable in this situation. Village is a great quiet getaway location and house provides everything you need so as not to need to find many other things to do. Would recommend.

A beautiful, quiet property with the most wonderful sea views. Clean, well-equipped and comfortable, it was pretty much as described on the property listing. The Overstrand village store is just a short walk away, as is the seafront, and Norfolk coastal path. We loved the Cliff Top Cafe in the village.
