Threw 5 empty bottles of cleaning products out but nothing in replacing them. Sure last year we booked same place was a lot better equipped essentials wise. Shame leaving it down to next visitor to do the work of owner/ cleaners!

Absolutely brilliant location- Hale is a beautiful village and we loved all the independent shops and pubs. Thank you for the lovely welcome package. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the cottage was poor. There was dust everywhere, brown stains on the mattress protector and floor of the small bedroom, limescale everywhere in the bathroom, stains oRead moren the blind, filthy extractor fan. Really was not acceptable and did spoil the trip for us. Parking is an issue - if you have a bigger car - forget it. Surely you can organise something with the supermarket. Mattress in the main bedroom was really used and dips where people have obviously slept on it - it should definitely be replaced. A huge privacy issue in the small bedroom- despite numerous comments in the guest book, the small bedroom door can not be closed due to the curtain rail being in the way. Its a simple fix and should be rectified as a matter of urgency. This cottage could be so wonderful, but needs a big refresh and much better cleaning. Unfortunately wouldnt be returning Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. Well investigate this right away to make sure everythings in place for the next guest. Hide

Good well equipped cottage, nice welcome pack. Great location and a corner cottage do more space. Only reservation was a ripped wuilt- not acceptable really and some soap or shower gel which caught us out - we do know it's self catering so if a box is left in kitchen with bin bags, dishwasher tablets and cloths ehy not basic toiletries?

Beautiful cottage, lovely furniture, well equipped and good position. Unfortunately in need of a deep clean. We found cobwebs with insects and dead flies. Under the sofa cushions was a collection of food crumbs, nuts ,sweets and old note paper. No dish cloth, no scourer no toilet paper provided.

Comfortable and cosy cottage with everything you need. We didnt receive a welcome pack but probably as we booked the afternoon the day before. Loo roll would have been appreciated though!! I spent my childhood in holt & this cottage is in a great location - its quiet even though near main Norwich road. Great to have parking - reversing out takes caRead morere its easier when the 2 other spaces are empty! We werent bothered by too many people walking down the lane to access Budgens (so handy for bobbing out to) via the gate or looking in from the other cottages at the back from their outdoor seating. Guess privacy might be an issue if all cottages were full. Holt has some fantastic pubs and restaurants. Try meadowsweet a few doors down if you want a blow out. Honestly the best Michelin starred restaurant Ive eaten in. Good lunch deals. Byfords being refurbed to be all restaurant space with no deli or take out so thatll be missed. The coast is just a few miles away. The cottage is a perfect base to explore everything north Norfolk has to offer. Hide

All we wanted and needed - a great escape - well presented, comfy (mattress, sofas etc), well equipped, super quiet for its location for amenities. The Owl Trail was novel. Only downside was Holt, as a town, lacks areas for a morning walk ie all parks were a 20min down busy main roads - or a car/bus trip away.

Lovely cottage in a fabulous location, considering its in town it was very peaceful, my only issue was the double bed, very uncomfortable and so I ended up in the twin room after the first 2 nights but understand beds are very subjective, supermarket was just through the gate so very handy, lots of places to visit within a half hour drive, parking Read morewasnt an issue for us as the third car decided to park elsewhere so we just reversed in everytime and didnt have an issue, however if you have a big car it could be a problem!! We visited Sheringham on the steam train, a couple of NT properties, Cley next the Sea and Cromer. Byfords is fab for breakfast. Didnt use the outside area as not very private and seating a bit poor.
