Garth Cottage is a spacious two-bedroomed stone built bungalow sleeping up to four people, located just outside the village of Crakehall which has been described as the prettiest village in the lower Dales.  The bungalow is suitable for the less mobile having 2ft 9” wide doors and ramped access to the front of the property. The spacious garden has far reaching views, the en suite bathroom benefits from automatic low brightness lighting and grab rails over the bath.  The property is only a short drive from the popular market town of Bedale and is a great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

The village green has giant sycamore and lime trees and stone built cottages which surround the green date back to the 1750’s. The green is overlooked by the village inn and it hosts an annual charity cricket match against the stars of Emmerdale.  Quoits add to the typical village scene in the summer.

Really great location for visiting local attractions, beautiful garden and views, very spacious and well equipped kitchen, perfect place to relax ( beds really comfortable) very helpful owners, (brought some toys for grand-daughter), always ready to provide information

Garth cottage is a beautiful cottage. It is very quiet being half a mile approximately from the small village of Crakehall. The garden and views from the lounge and conservatory are breathtaking. This was our 2nd visit to the property and the accommodation is excellent. There is nothing wrong with the equipment but I would probably reserve "Very Good" for equipment that was all nearly new - which I don't expect. The accommodation is extremely spacious, and the large garden is beautifully kept. We tended to dine in the kitchen area but thRead moreere is also a separate, wonderfully furnished dining room. The cottage is also in a very quiet location with the owners being the only neighbours within at least half a mile and at the end of a country lane which goes nowhere else. Hide

We had a lovely stay at this cosy, comfortable cottage. It is in a quiet, peaceful location, in an ideal spot for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The facilities are excellent and I can particularly recommend the property for the less-abled. We spent most of our time in the conservatory, with its views of the beautiful garden and the fields Read morebeyond. Our hosts, in the adjoining house, were friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. Lots of eating places in the surrounding villages. We hope to be back. Hide

Cottage was very clean and comfortable had all you need in the way of equipment for your stay. Beds were very comfortable and bedrooms huge. Location excellent cottage had beautiful garden with outstanding views accross open fields. Access was via a well maintained tarmac single track road. Very peaceful and relaxing stay.

The cottage was very well presented. It was warm, well equipped and comfortable with everything that you might require. The location was just great being about a mile away from the village. The owners were very pleasant and welcoming. Would definitely recommend Garth Cottage and would like to visit it again soon.
