Overview

Grade 2 listed, Market View is a luxury large 2 bedroom self catering apartment over two floors, looking out onto the ancient market square in the heart of Dartmouth.  Completely refurbished into self catering holiday accommodation in early 2010, it has been beautifully redesigned to a high specification but retains all its charm & original character. The maisonette has a 'beach house' feel. Decorated in blues, creams & whites, it is very light & relaxing.  A parking permit is provided for use all year for an unreserved space in the town centre car park.

Living

The large open plan lounge-kitchen-diner area has a top quality king size sofa bed, built in wardrobe and chest of draws to comfortably accommodate a further two people.

Kitchen

The open plan lounge-kitchen-diner is light and spacious with 2 windows overlooking the market square. There are white wooden window shutters and the kitchen is well designed and laid out with freestanding range cooker, integrated dishwasher, 18thC larder, butler's sink, stainless steel microwave and fridge freezer. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality cookware, utensils, prestige pots, pans, simple white china and solid stainless steel cutlery.

Sleeping

The main bedroom is full of character with ancient beams, occupying the entire top floor. It has an en-suite with shower, there is a white iron king size bed,  LCD TV with built-in DVD player and Freeview, bespoke built-in wardrobe, large chest of drawers, 2 bedside tables, 3 roof windows with blackout blinds and a cooling fan. Please note: there are 12 carpeted stairs with a handrail up to this bedroom.

The twin bedroom has 2 white iron 3ft wide twin beds, a built in wardrobe, 2 shaker style chest of draws, a small cabinet and a large window with ivory wooden blinds.

For more flexible sleeping arrangements, the lounge-kitchen-diner also features a king sized sofa-bed, for which linen is available by prior arrangement.

Bathroom

The main bathroom is light, airy and luxuriously appointed. There is a freestanding slipper roll top bath, separate shower enclosure with a traditional style Victorian shower - large fixed head and flexible hand held shower, a traditional Georgian style towel radiator and ivory wooden blind.

Outside

The maisonette overlooks the market square. There is a market Tuesdays & Fridays plus a Farmer's Market on the 2nd Saturday in the month.

Parking

There is an annual parking permit for you to use in Mayors Avenue car park (this works on a first come first served basis)

Entrance: There are 16 carpeted stairs and handrail directly in front leading up to accommodation.

 

This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £250, which is payable with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.

Good central location, but quite noisy, with constant seagull noise and two pubs nearby, with noisy patrons outside. Not an apartment for anyone with mobility issues as there are a LOT of stairs to reach the apartment. Quite well equipped and close to a nearby convenience store.

Excellent apartment with a very good location , its well equipped and very clean. I would recommend this apartment but not if you have difficulty with stairs.

Very spacious rooms and light environment. The property is well equipped for a holiday home. The location is a real bonus close to the car park, shops, pubs and harbour. Would happily recommend for a stay in Dartmouth.

The property is in a central location, comfortable and contained everything we needed. There are two flights of stairs to reach the living room which might be a challenge for some.

Comfy and well equipped appartment in a fabulous location. The carpark is literally a 2 min walk and we never had a problem parking. You can easily park in the side road to unload for a short while with no issues. You do get lots of noise from the nearby pubs until after kicking out time, so just be prepared as this could be an issue for some, partRead moreiculary with windows open in warm weather. Hide

A lovely apartment ideally located - with a parking permit for a car park a few minutes . Lots of positives - very well equipped , good quality furnishings, spotlessly clean. Has dishwasher , washing machine / dryer. Great range cooker - good size fridge. So very easy to self cater ( excellent deli across the road and M and S food hall a feRead morew minutes walk away ). Comfy beds. Great size main bathroom and a second en-suite. Really appreciated hypoallergenic bedding was sourced and provided for us. The negatives ( well the what might you want to know ). The great location does come with some noise - the seagulls providing most of it !!! The top bedroom does get warm ( there is a fan provided ) There are quite a few stairs - around 50 from front door to top bedroom The smallish Tv in living area was a bit spotty and we had to reset a few times. The lounge area is a strange set up sofa wise if there are more than two of you. That can be seen from photos on the webpage. No welcome pack provided ( fine by us but some might expect tea coffee milk to be there on arrival) Would happily recommend and return. Hide
