Property code: OC-CHAP

Situated just a couple of minutes away from the centre of Lynton is Chapel Loft - a beautifully-presented second floor duplex apartment sleeping four people and a dog. The owners have put a great deal of thought into the way the apartment’s living area is arranged and as such, it is laid out in a sociable fashion to make sure everyone can be together. The kitchen/dining area has a table and 4 dining chairs as well as two tub chairs whilst the lounge has comfy leather sofas and is a great room to relax in. A twin-bedded room and family bathroom with underfloor heating and heated towel rail complete the accommodation on this floor. Stairs lead up to the master bedroom which has a double bed and en-suite shower room. Outside, there is an allocated parking space. The apartment is very close to the centre of Lynton where you can wander around the cobbled side streets, exploring a myriad of eclectic shops and purchase your holiday souvenirs. Lynton is also home to its own cinema. Based in a Grade II Listed former Methodist Chapel, this cosy cinema has seating for just 68 people. The Victorians called Lynton and its sister village, Lynmouth, ‘Little Switzerland’ and, with hills clad in woodland dropping dramatically to a pretty valley below, it’s easy to see why. To fully appreciate the splendour of the countryside, coastline and seascapes, most visitors head first to the Victorian water-powered cliff railway that links Lynton with Lynmouth below. It is a journey of just 300m which offers utterly breath-taking views and on a clear day you’ll see across the Bristol Channel to Wales. Local beaches are a real treat. You have the shingle and rock of Lynmouth on your doorstep and just to the west is Lee Bay.  The famous Valley of The Rocks, with stunning coastal walks and home to a herd of wild goats is also just a few minutes’ drive away.

The apartment was very homely, clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Even though they are velux windows, these did let in a lot of light and also were very easy to open to allow air in. The apartment is on the top floor and has 5 flights of stairs to walk up, each flight only being 6 steps. There is no lift, therefore would not be suitableRead more for anyone with limited mobility. Lovely comfortable bed on the second floor with a really good walk in shower. Kitchen has everything you need and a full size fridge/freezer. This would have been perfect if we had been able to look out at the views. Having only velux roof windows id fine if you are out all day but in wet weather or you are elderly and can't manage all day it was a bit miserable to just be looking at the walls. We very much enjoyed our stay in Lynton, a fabulous location, with fantastic coast path and views. There is a cinema behind the (old church) arts and crafts gallery and both interesting and useful shops, cafes, restaurants and a medical centre/ minor injury unit. There are URC, Catholic and C of E Churches. The top floor flat is welcoming, clean, nRead moreicely furnished and provides lovely towells and bedding. You need to be fit for the stairs. Being in the roof, the windows are too high to look out of but it is light pleasant. Lovely downstairs bathroom. The fridge-freezer, crockery and pans provided are good. Watch out for water escaping under the shower door in the ensuite. We were a family of four adults and were pleased to find the twin room, although small, has good-sized, solid beds. The main bedroom, upstairs, is huge and there is good storage in both. A hairdryer is provided. Hide

My second visit to this apartment and on arrival it was very cold, the night-store heating was all switched off so no heat until the next day. There are a few low power convectors around. The location is good and the allocated parking is a real benefit. Lynton is a charming and friendly village to stay with a good selection of restaurants and cafesRead more. This is the third time my family and i have stayed at Chapel Loft. It is perfect for us, being close to family, walks, shops and the bus station. The appartment its self is ideal for us and has plenty of rooms, space and facilities. It is always clean and tidy when we arrive, warm and inviting and i particularly like that there is coffee, tea and bRead moreusicuits to tuck into after a long journey to get there. It is peaceful and quiet and we are never bothered by anyone. It is also very reasonably priced compared to some other properties in the area. The only thing i would point out to people who wish to stay there is that the appartment is a the top of the building and maybe difficult for the elderly or injured to get up the five flight of stairs. For us however, it is a wonderfu placel. Hide

The duplex apartment is well located with parking and it's an easy walk to the local shops and bars. Although quite light there are now views as such from any windows except the bedroom as the Velux is low enough to peer out of. The town is very quiet in the evenings with the local restaurants quite busy.

Beautiful location. Tricky access in the 3rd floor with no real view out of the velux windows but once youre out and exploring you get the most amazing views and days out. Lynton a lovely little town and plenty to do and see in local area! Never had a holiday with so little driving as everything on our doorstep!

Brilliant position for Cliff Railway and Valley of Rocks. A lovely comfortable place to relax after a day out exploring. Just be wary that there are several stairs as it is the top floor. For us and our dog it was perfect.

This is a nice top-floor apartment style 'cottage' with good amount of space and comfortable amenities within a very short walk of good facilities (I.e. taking into account the facilities of the village). The kettle failed whilst we were holidaying and it was sorted promptly. Cleanliness was superb. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable.

Lovely apartment in very convenient location in Lynton. Nice and quiet. Well equipped, we lacked for nothing - enjoyed a super stay. It was particularly useful to have a car parking space right outside, with space being tight in Lynton.
