As a family of six, we arrived in Trefeglwys on Saturday 9th May in three cars, for which there was ample parking space. We were intrigued by the quirky layout of this lovely cottage in it's beautifully manicured grounds with gorgeous views across the countryside and the endless, swooping, soaring and diving of swallows, whose nests were abundant Read morearound the eaves. The kitchen (on the left as you enter the cottage) is well equipped and leads to a cosy lounge with very comfy furnishing. The hallway runs parallel to the kitchen and contains the one ground floor bedroom and nearby wet room. The staircase from this hallway leads to two en-suite bedrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bath. If you turn right (inside the front door) is the dining room which conceals the laundry room and large understairs cupboard. A second staircase rises from the far end of the dining room to the third upstairs en-suite bedroom with shower. Really comfortable good quality beds and spacious bedrooms throughout. During our week here, we enjoyed exploring Caersws, Newtown, Machynlleth, Llanidloes and Welshpool. We were able to contact the owner by WhatsApp a couple of times. with questions, and she was very friendly and helpful. All in all, we had a really lovely time with everything we needed and we'd highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a really comfortable and relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. An excellent find on a farm in an unspoilt area of mid-Wales. The house is spacious, warm and well equipped with beautiful views from several aspects. We loved being able to walk from the cottage up on to the hills and enjoyed being there in fine weather in the midst of the lambing. Fabulous scenery to explore along quiet lanes. Glorious views around Llyn Clewedog and the Elan Valley. We highly recommend it. Hide

Derw Cottage is a lovely home from home and does not in any way feel like a holiday let. The cottage provided luxury accommodation for our party of 7 and we all really enjoyed our stay. The owners are lovely and clearly take great pride in providing such a high standard of accommodation. We have no hesitation in recommending this home for future guRead moreests Hide
