A cosy cottage with stunning views and easy access to numerous places of interest including Rydal Water, Tarn Hows and Grasmere. A lovely walk from the cottage by Elterwater too. The cottage itself, although small was comfortable and well equipped for cooking.

Would give the cottage 5 stars for the view and the position. The only downsides to the property was the difficult access. The car had to be parked away from the cottage so wouldnt be very good if you had mobility problems. The property is fairly small , bit of a squash for four , more suited for a couple. The bedroom is very small which made it dRead moreifficult getting in the bed! Also the kitchen is fairly small with a smallish fridge , Apart from that its very clean and we enjoyed our 3 night stay . The village of Chapel Stile is lovely with a good shop, cafe and lovely pub. The accommodation is in a beautiful location, with lovely walks from the front door. The village shop is well stocked and very friendly. And the Wainwright Inn is a great place for a meal.

A really lovely cottage in a fantastic location. Some great walks and great for local wild life. Would recommend the walk along the river to Skelwith Bridge and lunch at Chesters. There is a small fridge/freezer so dont turn up with a weeks shopping - but we liked supporting the local co-op which is very well stocked with excellent produce.

Although small every inch of space had been used well. The little dining table worked a treat and the views were wonderful. Comfy sitting room, lovely to watch all the birds on the feeders. The weather was quite cold and wet even fo the Lakes but the cottage was really cosy and warm to come back to each day. The kitchen was small but well equipped aRead morend we cooked several evening meals, although the pub and shop were within easy walking distance which was nice. The location was wonderful with gorgeous views and lots of walks from the door, just don't bring too much luggage as the car park is quite a distance from the cottage. We will definitely be back! Lovely comfortable cottage with fabulous views. Very well placed for lots of fairly low level and high level walks. We were there when the weather was nice but cold and the house was lovely and warm. It would be a bit of a squash for 4 people but plenty of room for 2 - and a dog! The nominated car park is up a very steep hill and it would be quite Read morerisky in icy weather. Room to park on the road at the front which suited us better. Hide

For the price the cottage was lovely but external is not enclosed for dog safety if choose to sit out and enjoy time in garden area. Inside it is small and cosy. There is not much cupboard space in kitchen as nearly all taken up with kitchen crockery and utensils so do not take a large shop. The bedroom is small and the bedframe does not allow mucRead moreh room on each side, which results in leg bruising from wooden frame-would suggest more of a padded frame. Overall, points are minor as the views are great and property price cannot be faulted for being situated in the Lake District. Would we return - quite simply yes Hide
