Fantastic location with a beautiful view from the front of the house. The house was warm and clean house. We had a good stay, but the house is a bit cramped for 4 adults staying for anything other than a few days (we were there for 2 nights). The kitchen is very small and only allows one person to work in there at a time. Theres a very low ceiling Read morein the bathroom so its easy to bang your head when using the shower. This would benefit from some padding. For the money we paid we would have expected some basic supplies to be provided such as milk, salt and pepper. The welcome pack consisted of some tea bags and a small pack of biscuits. Hide

Positives: great location and view. Other than above comments kitchen was well equipped. Comfortable albeit small bedroom. This cottage is cozy and comfortable for two but four would feel very cramped. Negatives: above comments and also guests should be warned the access from parking area is a steep slope which gets slippery when wet. Not suitableRead more for anyone with mobility concerns. Hide

A cosy cottage with stunning views and easy access to numerous places of interest including Rydal Water, Tarn Hows and Grasmere. A lovely walk from the cottage by Elterwater too. The cottage itself, although small was comfortable and well equipped for cooking.

Would give the cottage 5 stars for the view and the position. The only downsides to the property was the difficult access. The car had to be parked away from the cottage so wouldnt be very good if you had mobility problems. The property is fairly small , bit of a squash for four , more suited for a couple. Also the kitchen is fairly small with a smallish fridge , Apart from that its very clean and we enjoyed our 3 night stay . The village of Chapel Stile is lovely with a good shop, cafe and lovely pub. The accommodation is in a beautiful location, with lovely walks from the front door. The village shop is well stocked and very friendly. And the Wainwright Inn is a great place for a meal.

A really lovely cottage in a fantastic location. Some great walks and great for local wild life. Would recommend the walk along the river to Skelwith Bridge and lunch at Chesters. There is a small fridge/freezer so dont turn up with a weeks shopping - but we liked supporting the local co-op which is very well stocked with excellent produce.
