Spindrift Cottage is a roomy wing of a bungalow near delightful Berrynarbor and makes a perfect base to explore North Devon. Berrynarbor has a shop a mile away, while Combe Martin and Ilfracombe with their cafes, restaurants and more shops are a short drive east and west of the cottage. Spindrift is all on one level and has a spacious living area with patio doors out to a lawned garden with a barbecue and outside table ideal for al fresco dining on warm nights. The enclosed garden makes it perfect for dogs. The well-known Grade II listed Pack O’ Cards Inn looks over Combe Martin beach and the village also has a general store/post office. Combe Martin is well known for its Wildlife and Dinosaur Park; a 28-acre attraction that has a passion for encouraging respect for the natural world. As well as lions, wolves, sea lions, monkeys, wallabies, exotic birds and more, the park is well known for its life-sized animatronic dinosaurs. The village consists of one long street that is wedged into the valley and runs for roughly one and a half miles. At one end of Combe Martin you can be in the countryside a stone's throw from Exmoor, at the other end you could be sat on the beach watching the crashing waves of the Atlantic. Ilfracombe has a delightful mix of Victorian and Regency architecture, pretty harbour, independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs. The harbour, with Damien Hirst’s infamous bronze statue Verity, and the Tunnels Beaches, are well worth a visit along with the award-winning Ilfracombe Aquarium, fascinating Ilfracombe Museum, Larkstone Leisure Park, Hele Cornmill and Chambercombe Manor - one of Britain's most haunted houses. Head inland to Exmoor National Park, which has the tallest tree in England, the highest cliffs in England, almost 250 species of bird and over 1,000 different flowering plants and grasses, the highest number of wild red deer in England and wild native ponies, perfectly adapted to the upland conditions of Exmoor

We had another lovely stay at spindrift cottage. Sue the owner is very friendly, helpful and full of information about the area. The cottage has just had a new bathroom and is up to a very high standard. The kitchen is very well equipped. Nice and peaceful, a short walk to the bus stops. Off road parking.

Spindrift cottage is spacious, cosy and very well equipped with a good sized garden at the back and parking for one car at the front. It is located on a quiet road but not far from the main road. It's a nice short walk into the lovely little village of Berrynarbor, although there are quite steep hills to contend with. Berrynarbor has a small but weRead morell stocked Community shop and Post Office. It doesn't have a pub anymore, but there are two within a reasonable driving distance. The beaches at Combe Martin and Ilfracombe are an easy drive away. The owner was friendly and helpful and we are definitely looking to go back to Spindrift Cottage soon. Hide

It was in a good location with comfortable beds. The cottage was very clean. The cottage is damp with a leaking toilet, noisy oven fan and a slow-flowing shower. It is an annex connected to the owners home.

I highly recommend this place. Recently, we visited with my wife and two children. Its a very quiet place. The owners are very hospitable. The apartment was very clean, with a garden where you can have a barbecue in the evening. After a day of exploring various nearby areas because theres really a lot to see around North Devon its a perfect placeRead more to relax. There are various attractions for children and adults alike. You can visit Ilfracombe, go on the boat to see beautiful coast of North Devon,or drive about 1 hour to the west to see Clovelly village, which I really liked, even though there was an entrance fee. If you want to forget about the hardships of everyday life for a few days, I highly recommend this place. It's perfect for unwinding, collecting your thoughts, and then returning to work after your holiday. So, five stars out of five. Hide
