With beaches, cafes and historical monuments on your doorstep, this property with fantastic sea views offers an ideal choice to families or groups of friends seeking a peaceful break on the Welsh coast close to local amenities. Go for a relaxing stroll along Duraven Bay or venture along the coastline to discover other breathtaking beaches, such as Ogmore-by-Sea and Monknash Beach, all within 5.5 miles. Craig y Parcau Local Nature Reserve (6 miles) boasts an impressive oak and ash woodland on the steep slopes of Ogmore River with a wealth of wildlife to spot throughout the year, including otters, lapwings and the willow warbler. History buffs are well-placed to visit the remains of a Norman settlement, Ogmore Castle (3 miles), while the golfers of the group can spend a blissful morning playing 18 holes at Southerdown Golf Club (3 miles). The pretty market town of Cowbridge is teeming with independent fashion and furniture shops.

Enter through the front door of this homely cottage, admiring your splendid sea views as you go. Drop your bags, kick off sandy shoes and head into the living room on the right, where deep, soft seating beckons drowsy legs to stretch out. Calming coastal artwork and gentle colour palettes provide a relaxing space as you enjoy watching your favourite shows on the TV. The kitchen is light and airy, and well-equipped with an Aga and a dining table seating six. Drink in the glorious views from the table while tucking into piping-hot plates of hearty Welsh rarebit. Adjacent to the kitchen is a large utility room containing space for surfboards, bicycles and all the buckets and spades your group could need. A separate WC and stylish family bathroom are located down the hallway, as well as three delightfully decorated bedrooms: a king-size room, a double and a twin room. The king-size boasts a far-reaching panorama of the sea and gardens, while the other two rooms are spacious and charming.

The outside area is well maintained, whether you’re perched on the patio with a coffee or lazing on the grass in the shared garden. Whip up delicious al fresco dinners, or perhaps enjoy stargazing while sipping your favourite tipple. The property also has gated parking for up to three cars.
