Built to an extremely high standard and situated amidst beautiful countryside on the edge of the North York Moors, Silver Birch Lodge is one of two luxurious Finnish log cabins stand in a quiet secluded position overlooking a large paddock on the owners' small farm and bed and breakfast.  With quality fixtures and fittings, the lodge has a traditional log burning stove and solar heating system with underfloor heating offering a wonderful cosy and romantic holiday base especially so on chilly nights and  during winter months. There is a covered decked area with patio furniture which overlooks a paddock grazed by horses. The accommodation is all on the ground floor with ramp access from outside, making the lodge suitable for those with walking difficulties, and they have a Visit England level 1 mobility award.

Ideal for lovers of the outdoors and bird watching. Forest walks and trails can be found in nearby Dalby Forest and Cropton Forest. Head up onto the moors out of Pickering and Kirkbymoorside for spectacular views and walks. The nearby market town of Pickering with its famous moors railway running through stunning scenery is within just a few minutes' drive. The owner has horses and is able to provide grazing and stabling for visitors who want to bring their own horse(s).

Silver Birch Lodge can be booked with Rowan Lodge (Y291) to provide adjacent accommodation for two couples, and both lodges have comfortable living room seating, table and chairs and patio furniture to accommodate four people.

All on ground level with a ramp for wheelchair access into the lodge.

Kitchen area: Electric oven and hob, fridge, microwave.
Bedroom: King size bed, wardrobe, dressing table.

Ecellent, quiet location with friendly hosts and attention to needs with equipment for all holiday makers needs. This will be my first choice should I again visit North Yorkshire which is very likely!

This cottage is beautiful, well equipped and very comfortable, with a very nice welcome tray. It is in a lovely peaceful area but close to a lot of interesting places. Looking through the visitors book, we were struck by the number of return visitors and we can really understand why. It would be our choice again should we pay the area a repeat visRead moreit. The log cabin was really great for anyone with a disability, the only down side of our break was our 13 year old dog was not made welcome she has never been in a lead does not respond to other dogs had never worried sheep or any other farm animals however the owner constantly requested we tie her up which will never happen as long as she is with usRead more. She has kept my wife alive during her fight with cancer she was by her side following a stroke the dog used to take my wife for walks and bring her home for many months during her recovery from the stroke she is akin to our child! Lovely clean Lodge, good quality furniture, everything you need. Read many reviews about how friendly the hosts were, didn't see anything of them apart when we had to tell them about the wasps nest on entering the slope, but they already new about it and didn't warn us and when their dog attacked ours (our dog was ona lead next to me and their dRead moreog come from no where, she did apologise Hide

The cottage is in a beautiful location within easy reach of locations such as Pickering in one direction, the Bird of Prey centre in the other. The local dog friendly pub, The Middleton Arms, is a few hundred yards away, with great food and friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge is warm and cozy and is situated on a quiet farm, yet within walking distance to a local shop. Plenty of things to see in the surrounding area and the owners John and Paula are very friendly. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Lovely property in a great location. A great place to stay and relax after your daily adventures, we walked everyday, and it was nice to be able to come back to get a decent shower and enjoy the sunshine on the decking. Would definitely return if were in the area again.

Silver Birch Lodge was incredible value for the standard of property. It is bright, airy, well equipped and cosy. The owners are friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend it.
