  • Soak up the experience of life on a working smallholding
  • Kids will love sleeping on the ‘Crog Lofft’ above the living room
  • Feel right at home in the characterful property with beautiful exposed beams

Property code: OC-WAW313

Beudy is a detached stone barn on a working smallholding, now a delightful cottage in a peaceful, rural location with stunning views over the Cothi Valley, 2 miles west of Talley and 9.5 miles north of Llandeilo. Brechfa Forest nearby for excellent walking and mountain biking, and an hour to the coast.

This characterful cottage is mostly single storey (with a couple of internal steps), ideal for a couple, but with twin beds on the ‘Crog Lofft’ above the living room, suitable for older children/young teens.

Entrance: from the parking area to the front, direct into the living room (with one step up).

Living Room: open plan, with high ceiling, exposed beams and white painted stone walls, three seater sofa, chair, electric flame-effect stove, small Freeview TV and DVD player; pine dining table and four chairs; kitchen area with electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge with 3* icebox, slim dishwasher, microwave. Door to rear terraced gardens.

Crog Lofft Bedroom: above and open to the living room, accessed by wooden open-tread ladder-style stairs; pine-clad sloping ceilings and limited headroom, two single beds, gate at top of ladder for safety.

From the living room, one step down to:

Bedroom: with double bed and range of pine furnishings.

Shower Room: electric shower in cubicle, WC, basin, shaver light, heated towel rail.

Outside: the cottage is situated to one side of the farmyard, with barns adjacent, but separate and private from the owners’ farmhouse; small decking patio to the front with bistro table and chairs; to the rear is steep, stepped access to enclosed garden areas on two levels, both with garden furniture and views, the top level with summer house and far-reaching views over the Cothi Valley, with some lovely sunsets. Due to the steep, hillside nature of the grounds, the rear garden is not really suitable for very young children or those with mobility issues. WiFi can be accessed outside, to the front of the property. Secure bike storage available.

Utility Room: shared with the owner, in adjacent outhouse, with washing machine.

Owners are happy to show guests around the 30 acre Nantygroes smallholding (chickens, ducks, goats, sheep and cattle) including 4 acres of recently planted woodland. Guests are encouraged to help with egg collecting and animal feeding. Fresh hen and duck eggs are usually available.

Ideally placed for peace and quiet but central to multiple adventures and outdoor pursuits.  Mountain bike trails in Brechfa forest (15 mins drive).  Walking trails in Talley Community Woodland with views across Brecon Beacons. 10 miles to Black Mountain Geo Park for more adventurous walking.   Great location for castle visits (3 within 5 miles and many more within an hour’s drive).   National Trust Dolaucothi Gold mines 10 mins away.  Aberglasney Gardens and The National Botanical Gardens are less than 30 mins away.  Choice of beach visits within about an hour’s drive is extensive from the Gower Peninsula, The Mumbles and Pendine Sands in the south to Aberaeon and New Quay in the West. The area is known for its dog friendly beaches and shops.

We had the best time at Linda's place. The cottage was so cosy and a great place to relax after a day out walking. Our daughter absolutely loved helping on the farm every day. Linda was so helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend and will be back.

A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle but lots to do within a short drive. The Home Owner was very helpful and gave great advice on where to go. Thanks for a nice holiday.

Amazing cottage in an amazing location. Only sounds of birds and farm animals so very relaxing stay, if you are after it. Beautiful views from the back garden, no matter the weather as you can hide in a shed. No light pollution at night, so stargazing is just breath taking and the best sleep we all had in a long time. Cottage is situated on a worRead moreking farm, children will be able to help feeding animals in the morning. Owners are really lovely and helpful. Many lovely walks around and cute, little villages to visit. Coast only 1 hour away. Hide
