Beudy is a detached stone barn on a working smallholding, now a delightful cottage in a peaceful, rural location with stunning views over the Cothi Valley, 2 miles west of Talley and 9.5 miles north of Llandeilo. Brechfa Forest nearby for excellent walking and mountain biking, and an hour to the coast.
This characterful cottage is mostly single storey (with a couple of internal steps), ideal for a couple, but with twin beds on the ‘Crog Lofft’ above the living room, suitable for older children/young teens.
Entrance: from the parking area to the front, direct into the living room (with one step up).
Living Room: open plan, with high ceiling, exposed beams and white painted stone walls, three seater sofa, chair, electric flame-effect stove, small Freeview TV and DVD player; pine dining table and four chairs; kitchen area with electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge with 3* icebox, slim dishwasher, microwave. Door to rear terraced gardens.
Crog Lofft Bedroom: above and open to the living room, accessed by wooden open-tread ladder-style stairs; pine-clad sloping ceilings and limited headroom, two single beds, gate at top of ladder for safety.
From the living room, one step down to:
Bedroom: with double bed and range of pine furnishings.
Shower Room: electric shower in cubicle, WC, basin, shaver light, heated towel rail.
Outside: the cottage is situated to one side of the farmyard, with barns adjacent, but separate and private from the owners’ farmhouse; small decking patio to the front with bistro table and chairs; to the rear is steep, stepped access to enclosed garden areas on two levels, both with garden furniture and views, the top level with summer house and far-reaching views over the Cothi Valley, with some lovely sunsets. Due to the steep, hillside nature of the grounds, the rear garden is not really suitable for very young children or those with mobility issues. WiFi can be accessed outside, to the front of the property. Secure bike storage available.
Utility Room: shared with the owner, in adjacent outhouse, with washing machine.
Owners are happy to show guests around the 30 acre Nantygroes smallholding (chickens, ducks, goats, sheep and cattle) including 4 acres of recently planted woodland. Guests are encouraged to help with egg collecting and animal feeding. Fresh hen and duck eggs are usually available.
Ideally placed for peace and quiet but central to multiple adventures and outdoor pursuits. Mountain bike trails in Brechfa forest (15 mins drive).
