Bransdale Cottage is a charming, semi-detached, stone built cottage situated in a quiet location approx. one and a half miles from the village of Glaisdale. The property has a rustic aura and charm, with beamed ceilings and a wood burning stove, and is ideal for families. It has lovely views over the dale and moors and is an ideal place for a peaceful walking or touring holiday, just 15 minutes drive from Whitby.

Next door is another holiday cottage for four people so if both properties are booked then there is potential to accommodate eight people (ref. WA245).

Kitchen/Diner: Fridge, electric cooker with grill and oven, microwave and dining table with chairs.

FIRST FLOOR:
Bedroom 1: Double bed, chest of drawers, dressing table and wardrobe.
Bedroom 2: Bunk beds and chest of drawers.
Bathroom: Shower, toilet and washbasin.

Pets: Two dogs welcome.
Parking: Parking available near the cottage on a grassy verge.
Heating: Wood-burning stove in lounge and night-storage heaters.
Garden: Enclosed garden with lawn, patio, garden furniture and barbecue.
Short breaks: Accepted all year round.
Notes: Please bring your own towels. A basket of logs is provided with additional wood available to purchase locally. WiFi is now available. No smoking at this property. Mobile phone signal is variable. Outside:-Five steps and a slope. The inside stairs are fairly steep so people with limited mobility may require assistance.

The location of the cottage is absolutely stunning and despite our issues , assuming they are fixed I would consider going back again. Fortunately there was no one in the cottage next door as I feel sound would easily traverse between the 2 cottages , they are only separated by an internal door. Cottage is very compact, particularly the bedrooms Read moreand shower room . They are serviceable but for 4 people may be a bit cramped. There was just 2 of us and 2 dogs . The garden was perfect for sitting out, drinking in the views across and down the Dale and secure for the dogs to play. Only downside was the grass needed cutting making it difficult to ensure it was kept clean ( dogs bathroom trips) . Hide

It should be made clear that the access road to the field should not used by a saloon car as mine became stuck and only when a local farmer assisted me could i park in the gravel layby which was mentioned in the informationm sheet in the cottage, but not prior to arriving.

Really lovely location, peaceful and easy access to some beautiful walks and places of interest. The cottage is very quaint and good for two people and ideal for dogs, family of four may find it a little small but acceptable. Garden perfect and secure for dogs and a lovely view. The location was idyllic, with beautiful weather allowing us to spend most of our time outdoors or traveling to the coast, which was about 20-25 minutes away. Unfortunately, the accommodation was disappointing. The house was uncomfortable due to issues with space, cleanliness, and aesthetics, which led us to leave a day early. It needs a significanRead moret investment for updates and a thorough cleaning. The house is quite small, with the living room being the only relatively spacious area, but even there, the sofas and chairs need replacing. Its not a cosy space. Lovely stay in a great location to explore the North Yorkshire moors. The dogs loved the garden space and it was very secure. The dogs also liked sitting and watching the sheep.

The cottage is situated in a fairly remote, very quiet area with beautiful surroundings. The living room is a good size but the rest of the cottage is extremely small) It is within easy driving distance of the major tourist spots, some of the drives are a little challenging but very scenic. I would suggest the cottage is suitable for 2 adults onlRead morey (max 3 if one wishes to sleep in a bunk bed) and not children due to the stairs and general size, and not suitable for those with mobility issues for the same reason and the very steep slope that needs to be walked up from the parking place. There were a lot of cobwebs and facilities are adequate but basic. A suitable base for travelling for days out. Dogs liked the enclosed garden although it was smaller than it looked in the listing. The location of this property was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our walks up Glaisdale Rigg with our dog along a multitude of footpaths and bridleways. It was a convenient base for visits to the coast, York and rest of the moors. The property itself was good downstairs for the four of us and comfortable in the lounge. The location is amazing but perhaps more warning about the parking is needed at the time of booking, rather than in the folder on site.

Love holiday home set in the Yorkshire moors with the most beautiful views. Surrounded by countryside and farm animals, and very peaceful. Whitby is just about 20 minutes drive where you can get everything you need, and is a great place to explore too. Is a great place for exploring the Yorkshire moors and surrounding areas. detail mentioned an ironing board but that was not at property but there was an iron Found the cottage ideal for our stay and very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 dogs and the enclosed garden was a great asset the surroundings are beautiful.

We loved the location of the cottage, the valley is beautiful, peaceful with wildlife to see. The garden is an afternoon sun trap, it was nice to sit out and listen to the birds. The kitchen was lacking a few items, such as a potato peeler, pizza cutter, decent knives and a large colander.
