Set in a splendid location in the Scottish countryside, this welcoming cottage is perfect for families or groups of up to six planning days of hiking and cycling, city trips, and cultural excursions. Outdoor enthusiasts can uncover the local landscape by joining the nearby River Avon Heritage Trail, which meanders through the surrounding hills, woodland and historic sites. For more local gems, head to the engineering marvel of the Falkirk Wheel (6 miles) – the world's only rotating boat lift, offering boat trips and interactive exhibits. Also nearby is the town of Linlithgow (10 miles), home of Linlithgow Palace – the birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots. A unique way to explore the town is via a canal boat trip. Families will enjoy a visit to the popular Scottish Owl Centre (8 miles), while city day trips are on the cards thanks to Glasgow and Edinburgh both sitting within 23 miles.

Step into this charming, dog-friendly cottage and kick off walking boots in the hallway before moving through to the light and bright lounge. Unwind on the comfy sofas in here after days of adventure, flicking on the Smart TV and firing up the wood burner on chilly evenings. When stomachs rumble, find that the bespoke, well-appointed kitchen boasts everything needed for a self-catered stay, including garden access. Enjoy the chef’s work in the dining room and afterwards move through to the sunroom to relax with an evening tipple as you look out to the garden. Completing the ground floor are two double bedrooms, both with garden views, plus a well-equipped shower room with a walk-in shower. The final bedroom is up on the first floor – a master king-size room with an en-suite bathroom that features a jacuzzi-style tub and separate shower.

Outside, make full use of the front and rear gardens. The rear garden is fully enclosed and features a private hot tub for unwinding in after days of adventure. Guests will also find two sets of table and chairs for al fresco dining together. For extra-special outdoor memories, enjoy time spent in the private games room which features a pool table and dartboard, as well as a wood burner-effect electric fire and handy kitchenette/utility area. Private, off-road parking for three cars is also available.
