We (two adults, two kids) had a great stay at Thackthwaite lodge. The lodge is new, very well appointed (literally everything we needed was there already) and was impeccably clean on arrival. The living spaces are generous and comfy and the bedrooms cosy and quiet. The decking and hot tub were a huge hit - even in the rain! - with amazing views oveRead morer the lake and hills. The park was lovely - pretty trails to the lake right from the door and a lovely play area for younger kids. A fab stay! Hide

The accommodation is new this year, so it's beautifully decorated with all mod cons. Outstanding views and quiet location. Could not have picked anywhere better to stay in the lakes. Cockermouth is only 20 mins away for supermarkets. We visited all the lakes and towns from here, with lots of well maintained main roads.

This was one of our favourite stays. The location and views were so idyllic and peaceful. The pictures do not give the views any justice , just stunning. We were even able to watch the RAF training over the lake with fighter jets and a Hercules. The cottage was done up to such a high standard and was so comfortable. The hot tub was a huge plus lookRead moreing over the lake and the hills. This cottage/Cabin is a must and one of the few places that we would book again. Just perfect . Hide
