This charming semi-detached retreat is nestled in a serene rural setting, encompassed by 24 acres of picturesque woodlands in the Exe Valley. The medieval village of Dunster, 18 miles away, provides a day of fun at the castle and the many eateries and bespoke shops abound. Enjoy walking, cycling and water sports at beautiful Wimbleball Lake, just 10 miles away. Tiverton is only 7 miles away and offers a splendid day out on a canal barge pulled by horses or visiting the Museum of Country Life. National Trust property Knightshayes has extensive grounds for your four legged friend to roam and a gothic mansion to explore. Surf beaches and long sandy dog walks can be found at Woolacombe or Croyde in North Devon, around an hours drive away and well worth the visit.

Step inside, straight into the open and welcoming kitchen/diner/lounge of this enchanting property with eco credentials – solar energy and a wood burner will keep you cosy in the cooler months. The kitchen area is well equipped and has plenty of space to enjoy meals on the dining table situated adjacent. The living area is heated by a wood burner which sits in the corner of the room, where comfortable sofas provide a relaxing place to cosy up and enjoy the Smart TV and your favourite shows. Completing the downstairs space is the bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC. The property has one bedroom upstairs, a restful room with a king-size bed, Juliet balcony and stunning countryside views over the fields.

Outside to the rear is an enclosed lawn garden and to the front of the cottage, accessed via the lounge patio doors, is a bistro table and chairs to enjoy morning coffee or your favourite tipple in the evening. Guests are also able to explore the farm’s 24 acres of land, and pay a visit to the resident pigs and chickens.

A perfect little cottage for a quiet break. The only sounds are birds, lambs and one noisy pheasant. It was lovely for our two dogs to explore all the smells on the walks which are easily accessible from the cottage. The bed was so comfortable we had good sleeps. We would love to return.
