This retreat is situated close to the Scottish Borders, right on the National Cycle Route and close to Hadrian's Wall. This area has a lot of history, the site of the Arthuret Church dating from 1150 is strongly linked to the legend of King Arthur and Michael and All Angels Church, 0.5 miles away, was built in 1609 in a late Gothic style. The area is known for famous battles between the English and Scots. Enjoy a spot of retail therapy and head to the designer outlet at Gretna, just 5 miles away. If you want to explore the Lake District you are only 30 miles away. The Annandale Whisky Distillery is just 13 miles away, offering tours and tasting sessions and for any keen fishermen or golfers, the area has plenty of choices to fill your day.

  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

This property was new, well decorated, well equipped and comfortable. The BbQ hut is a great addition but we did not use as not accessible for one of our party. hot tub was disappointing as wood fired and just too much of a faff when you just fancy a quick relax as takes about 3 hours to set it up. The cottage is lovely, lots of lovely touches to make it feel home from home. The enclosed garden has stunning views and is a lovely place to enjoy the weather. The hot tub and bbq hut was really good and we used this lots during our stay.

This cottage was lovely, bedrooms were a great size! Kitchen and lounge was lovely and great for a cozy night in. It was clean and very nice little touch of orange and milk on arrival! The hot tub was a great addition along with the bbq hut where we enjoyed a cooked breakfast on one of the mornings! It was in a fab place, Gretna green being just 20Read more minutes away! The cottage is beautiful and well located. It is well equipped and the location is stunning. The log fire is cosy and easy to use. The bbq hut us fantastic snd we used it over the new year whilst blowing a gale outside hence we didn't use the hot tub. We have already booked a return holiday. You won't be disappointed if you book !

We had a lovely stay at this property. It was finished to a very high standard and was very comfortable and well equipped. Warming the water in the hot tub takes more logs and longer than we expected so start early!

Stunning cottage that is situated in a good location with easy access to Carlisle and Gretna. Beautifully decorated and loved the quirky light settings. The hot tub was amazing but needed a bag of wood to get it going properly. The BBQ hut was our favourite and again loved the little extras of tv, cushions and blankets. On our final day the field wRead moree had the company of a herd of cows which was lovely as they were very inquisitive !! Hide

Absolutely beautiful place to stay, the accommodation was to very high standards you couldnt fault it. The bbq hut was brilliant we had the odd rainy evening but that did not stop us from having a bbq due to having this facility. Great location! We were recommended this cottage by holiday cottages as our previous booking was cancelled last minute with a different cottage. The main purpose of our trip was to visit Lake District and in fairness wasnt too long of a journey. The owner was easy to contact and helped us set up the hut and jacuzzi.

Beautiful holiday location to spend the week at. Plenty of out door space, For our dogs. Enjoyed the hot tub in the evening after spending the afternoon walking. Beautifully presented house, very modern and clear attention to detail. The bbq hut was amazing as was the hot tub (although it did take us a while to get the hang of it!) The location was lovely and peaceful with lots of little towns nearby. Highly recommend the crown and thistle at Rockcliffe for a meal out!
