This picture-postcard cottage is great for couples, small families and friends wanting a break away with a wealth of amenities within 250 metres. It has coaching inns, cafes, delicatessens, a gift shop, antique shops and a cheese shop so you are spoilt for choice! The High Peak and Tissington Trail are both within 3 miles and offer cycle hire. Carsington Water is perfect for sailing and water sports and is situated 15 miles away. Chatsworth (15 miles), the medieval Haddon Hall (12 miles) and Alton Towers (15 miles) are well worth a visit. Buxton, renowned for its Opera House and Pavilion Gardens, is 11 miles away. Some of the best walks in Derbyshire can be found to pass through the village so don’t forget your walking boots.

The spacious lounge has many charming features such as an imposing inglenook fireplace and original stone mullion windows and beams. There is a TV and plenty of comfy seating to relax in after a day hiking the hills. The kitchen/diner is well-equipped with all you need to rustle up a meal during your stay and a nearby dining table for that special celebration meal. There are three bedrooms upstairs, all of which have their own en-suites and are complimented with traditional furniture and pretty soft furnishings.

In front of the cottage is a small but pleasant traditional cottage garden with some outside seating from where you can watch the world go by. In the shared courtyard behind there is a patio area with seating for up to six. Also in the courtyard, there are shared laundry facilities along with a shared games room with games compendium of table football, mini pool, air hockey and table tennis, and a Smart TV. This property has a private water supply.

We had a lovely stay in Knowl cottage. The outside seating front and back was great. Parking was so safe and convenient. The bedrooms were really comfortable and spacious with well designed bathrooms. The lounge was really comfortable and relaxing and the kitchen diner was ideal. Thank you

On the ground floor, the floor is quite cold. Therefore, it is advisable to bring slippers. The accommodation itself was clean. But unfortunately the dishes were not. The location in Hartington was great.

Lovely cosy, well equipped cottage. Beds and bedding were also lovely. Gorgeous village, we ate at The Devonshire Arms and always enjoyed our meals. The dog was very welcome also.

Great location, right next to Beresford Tea Rooms, opposite the Village Stores and 46 paces to the Devonshire Arms, comfortable sofas and beds, some areas have low ceilings so if you're over 6ft you might bang your head once or twice. All in all, a lovely cottage and we had a great week.

We are repeat customers - which vouches for our opinion! This is a lovely, well appointed cottage in a smashing village (with pubs and independent shops) in a beautiful area. We arrived in snow and were delighted that we could take a walk in the surrounding countryside the next morning directly from the cottage without having to dig our car out. We absolutely loved staying in Knowl Cottage. Very well equipped, with comfortable beds. Great tea rooms next door, pub the other side, and grocery store opposite. We loved the property and its location which had easy access to lots of walking trails as well as local shops for provisions and great places to eat out. The cottage was very comfortable with lots of room for a family of 6. It was great to have 3 large bedrooms all ensuite. The location was really great we would definitely visit Hartington again! The three ensuites were exactly what we needed. The cottage is tired, furniture etc... Not very private, overlooked at front by passerby's and the back looks straight onto the car park for cottages in courtyard. Weather was great, people friendly, local produce delicious.

I fell in love with Knowl Cottage as soon as I saw it! Its cosy & quirky & surprisingly spacious and the beds are comfy. Beautiful location, the cottage is well appointed and there was plenty of space for 6 adult guests. The age of the building adds to the experience with sloping floors in the bedroom. We had a very relaxing weekend celebrating a birthday and Fathers Day.

My husband and I, my brother and 94 year old mother enjoyed a weeks holiday in Knowl Cottage. The owners had provided all the equipment needed for a comfortable stay. This cottage is a characterful property, lots of beams, so mind your head if youre tall! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Our first time in Derbyshire and I couldnt have chosen a better cottage. Knowl Cottage ticked all the boxes, location, parking, cozy, plentiful hot water & spotlessly clean. From reading a few of the previous reviews saying the cottage is tired, I was getting quite nervous for our arrival especially as wed invited friends to join us. The cottage is in a great location, in the heart of the village . Close to village shops and pubs. Great walking area. Its very homely and relaxing. Not too prissy. Tiled floors downstairs which is great if you have a pet.

Knowl cottage is very comfortable, cosy & well located. The heating & hot water worked very well which was essential on our return from icy and wet walks. The kitchen equipment also worked well. We had a lovely weekend at the cottage. Beautiful picture box setting, a lovely traditional cottage which was spotlessly clean and a stones throw from the shop and pub. Well equipped with everything needed, and we really appreciated the Christmas tree and decorations up! We loved it, thank you to the owners!

We had a wonderful week in Hartington and Knowl Cottage was the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Peak District. Comfortable and well-equipped, the cottage offered good facilities in the heart of the village. Cottage is in a great location within a beautiful village which has alot of character. The rooms are large and well appointed, albeit a little tired in decor.
