This is such a lovely cottage. It's extremely well-equipped and comfortable, and is very spacious. The location is glorious, perfect for sightseeing and walking, and although it's on an A road, it isn't very busy and you really don't hear it from inside the house. The enclosed garden was very useful as we were travelling with dogs. Vindolanda, HousRead moreesteads and Hadrian's Wall are all close by and we went on a day trip to the Lake District as well. We would really recommend this lovely house. Hide

Lovely house and in nice area , on main road but not too busy the traffic noise is minimal. However we picked the property for enclosed garden and takes upto 2 dogs , we did only take 1 in the end . But the garden is NOT secure for dogs so you do need to be very careful. We had to make sure ours on lead everytime. Which was a shame as he does like Read morea run around. Plenty of lovely walks in area. We were able to park 2 cars in drive although tight. Lovely peaceful area. Hide

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Very nice size and we loved the views, especially the barn owls flying around most evenings. Lots to do locally with easy access to Hadrian's Wall and other locations. Amazing walking onto the downs from the cottage.

Such a lovely cottage in a great location to explore Cumbria and Northumberland. Quiet with plenty of outdoor space for dogs as there is a small patio and side garden Really easy to book and clear instructions Just be aware that parking for two cars is a squeeze and while it is in a 20 zone the house is on a corner and not many cars were doing 20! Our stay at School House was really enjoyable and we had a fantastic time exploring the surrounding countryside which is beautiful. The property itself has plenty of room, and is both comfy and well maintained. We would definitely come back.
