Enjoy a romantic escape to this detached period barn in the style of the early 20th-century architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. The property is situated within the grounds of the owner's home in the village of Ednaston; it’s a great base for those who enjoy walking and cycling, with many footpaths within easy reach of the barn. Ednaston fishing lakes are just a short walk away. The market town of Ashbourne is within a 7-mile drive; lined with cobbled streets and old buildings, this traditional market town offers many fine spots to wine and dine, as well as boasting an assortment of captivating antique shops. Carsington Water (9 miles) offers waterside walks, cycle hire, boat fishing and water sports and, for adrenaline junkies, Alton Towers is within 15 miles.

Step into the cottage-style kitchen with everything you need to rustle up a meal during your stay. Wander through to the spacious lounge/diner with a wood burner and an impressive, vaulted ceiling providing a special place to enjoy a meal or simply relax in front of the fire. There is a downstairs wet room with a nearby staircase leading to a twin bedroom. Accessed via a separate staircase is the master bedroom with a king-size bed and a nearby bathroom with a beautiful freestanding bath.

Outside, there is a fully enclosed garden with pretty cottage-style planting and lawns, seating and a BBQ offering a peaceful place to relax and dine alfresco. There is a summer house with a good supply of board games, books and comfy seating, so sit back and enjoy.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size and 1 twin - please note the bedrooms are at either end of the barn accessed via separate staircases
  •  2 bathrooms – 1 bathroom with bath and WC, 1 wet room with shower and WC
