Step inside this fully refurbished holiday home to discover beautiful wood flooring and bespoke touches throughout. The impressive open-plan living area features high ceilings with windows on three sides and Velux skylights that flood the space with natural light. An original stone inglenook fireplace with a double-sided wood burner divides the main lounge/diner from the cosy snug, where you can settle with a book or watch the Smart TV. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with beautiful wooden worktops, an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, and washing machine. For sleeping arrangements, there's a ground-floor king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and WC, plus a charming second king-size bedroom upstairs with sloping ceilings and built-in storage. A second shower room with WC is also located on the ground floor.

 
Outside, the west-facing wrap-around garden features gravel and lawn areas with a fire pit and garden furniture – perfect for al fresco dining, sunset drinks, and stargazing. The enclosed patio can be accessed directly from the lounge via French doors, allowing you to enjoy your meals accompanied by birdsong. Off-road parking is provided for one small to medium car in an allocated space off the access lane, with additional roadside parking available at the end of the lane (subject to availability). Please note that the turning circle is very tight. This cosy cottage is available to rent for your perfect Northumberland holiday.

Lovely cottage up on a hill, very cosy and comfortable. I loved the town itself with all the independent shops which is so rare to find these days. It's also very dog friendly and there is a lovely walk along the river if you don't want to travel far. We loved our stay at this cottage and already miss it. This was a special one for us as well because we got engaged during our stay here, so it will always be a memorable place for us. The cottage is a little gem. It is a bit tucked away but once you get used to where it is and the parking, it is great. Very warm and comfortable. Getting into town is a breeze, just walk down the hill and you're there. As a base for exploring Northumberland it is ideal.

Lovely cottage with extremely friendly owners and neighbours. Comfortable and warm in an amazing location. Within easy reach of several NT properties and Beaches. We thought it was an excellent base for exploring the local areas. The cottage is very pretty and well equipped although it could have been cleaned more thoroughly before we arrived. We hope to return to this area soon and would happily come back and stay at Restawhile. The neighbours are very friendly as well and made us feel welcome.

We had a lovely week in this beautiful property. Our dogs not only loved the freedom of the enclosed garden but the cosy nights by the fire. Perfectly situated to both go for walks in the local area or travel to neighbouring attractions. The heated flooring in a property like this is rare and a real luxury.

The cottage was very well equipped and had added quirky features and fixtures and fittings. It was a bit awkward to manoeuvre the car in the space but we managed well enough. Despite the rain and wet underfoot we were able to keep the cottage clean with having a dog, with an array of towels and blankets

What a find! A little piece of heaven tucked away in a village location. Stunningly converted and furnished, including old implements transformed into lights, with decorative bulbs! Disappointing. Located behind a run down cottage. Lane up to property parking very narrow. Parked across 2 allocated spaces for easier access to get out. Pathway to cottage rather overgrown. Garden area would be lovely if tendered regularly. Downstairs bedroom rather dark as low ceiling and a small window. No carpet on stairs to attic bedroom. Rothbury is a good base to explore Northumberland. Newcastle and Hexham are not far away. We enjoyed Alnwick, lots to do and see. Cragside House, Holy Isle and Bamburgh castle are within easy reach as is Hadrians wall. The cottage is comfortable, well equipped and 'quirky' but ceilings are quite low. Got everything you need in the property for a pleasant stay. Small area of grass outside for the dogs. The drive up the property is very steep. If you aren't a convenient driver park on the road though it is quite a drag up if you need to carry things to the property. Both bedrooms have comfy beds. Kitchen has the equipment you need.
