Situated off the beaten track and set in a very peaceful location, this delightful retreat boasts spectacular views over the remarkable Devonshire countryside. Explore the walks from the doorstep across fields and join the Two Moors Way. Within a 3-mile distance of the property is the village of Morchard Bishop, which offers a traditional village shop/cafe and a popular pub that is renowned for its food. For those looking for an adventure and a chance to pop on the walking boots with your furry friend during their stay, then discover Exmoor in the north with its moorland, woodland, rivers and coast, or head south to Dartmoor which is famous for its changing landscape, stunning views, deep wooded valleys with fast-flowing rivers, and rugged, wide-open spaces. For a bit more of a nighttime buzz, why not visit the cathedral city of Exeter (17 miles) which combines high street shopping with places of interest such as the Roman wall and the ancient cathedral?

Enter the cottage and step immediately into the stunning open hallway area which has a fantastic sense of space with its imposing staircase. The kitchen/diner is a large area complete with a large dining table and chairs and plenty of mod cons, the perfect place to sit down after a day in the great outdoors and relax over a meal or two. The utility room adjacent offers a washing machine, a door for rear access, and space to store welly boots or wipe the dog down. Next door is a beautiful lounge with its stunning stone flooring; it oozes with character and has a large Smart TV, comfortable seating and patio doors that open out into the garden. You also have a separate WC on this floor. Moving upstairs, there are two beautiful bedrooms, the first is the Master bedroom with a super-king-size bed, French doors with a Juliet balcony, and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, a handheld shower attachment, and a WC. The bedroom next door is a lovely twin bedroom which has an en-suite shower room with a shower and a WC.
Outside is an enclosed private garden with a patio area and garden furniture – it’s a fabulous spot to sit and relax with a drink after a long day or stargaze at night. You’ll be surrounded by farmland with deer often spotted in the nearby fields.

We were welcomed warmly by the family and were given gifts of produce from their garden. The cottage is spacious and the kitchen appliances good with lovely bespoke china wear. A very big kitchen table to lay out extravagant meals or play games. It seems very remote but a store and pub are only about 2 miles away. Foot paths abound but good maps hoRead morewever used are necessary. We would enjoy visiting again. Hide

This was a real find! Beautifully converted barn on the end of the owners' house. Well designed, equipped, decorated and furnished to high spec. Really comfortable bed and peaceful surroundings. Northleigh Barn is a spacious, comfortable and well equipped holiday cottage. It is in "a way from it all location" with a private and enclosed garden and many country walks from the door. The owners are very pleasant and helpful.

North Leigh Cottage is a wonderful holiday rental! The owners couldnt have made us feel more welcome and were really helpful with suggestions of great places to eat nearby. I will miss lying in bed at night and watching the stars through the velux window and will definitely miss the most comfortable bed Ive encountered in a holiday rental!
