Enjoy walks from the door to Skiddaw, Blencathra, Latrigg, Brundholme Woods and the beautifully remote Genderraterra Valley. Situated within the Lake District National Park recently voted a UNESCO World Heritage site, Far Wescoe is conveniently located only 5 miles from the market town of Keswick where you will find an extensive range of local amenities including a variety of independent shops, cafes, and pubs together with the theatre by the Lake. There are lots of outdoor activities in the local area, including sailing, climbing, 4x4 off-roading, and horse riding. For adrenaline junkies why not try Go Ape or visit the local Alpaca centre where you can walk an Alpaca.

As you approach the front door of Far Wescoe, on your right, is a useful heated laundry room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, WC, and basin. It offers a practical place to store wet coats and walking boots. Enter into the hallway with exposed beams and a staircase to the first floor. To your left is a large utility room and further down the corridor a cosy snug with leather sofas, exposed beams, a wood-burning stove, and a large smart TV. Opposite the snug is the formal dining room with exposed beams, a feature fireplace, a large wood burner, and an original serving hatch to the kitchen. The dining room leads onto a stunning conservatory from where to soak up the incredible panoramic views or read a book. Out of the conservatory leads into the beautiful hand-made kitchen which has its original Honister slate flooring, antique butcher's block, and feature fireplace. it is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge/freezer. Next door is a lounge with uninterrupted views to the fells. There is a large walk-in bay window with a table and handmade wooden bench seating. There is a wood burner, smart TV, exposed beams, and comfy seating to kick back and relax. From the kitchen there is a second staircase with access to the first floor. On the first floor, you will find a king-size bedroom with exposed beams, fell views, a built-in wardrobe, and an original basin. There is a large double room with fell views and a bathroom featuring an original cast iron bath, WC, and sink, plus views towards Lonscale Fell. The third bedroom is a pretty twin with exposed beams and extensive storage. The final bedroom is another spacious double with basin unit and views over the open countryside and fells. To complete the accommodation there is a Jack and Jill bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Lovely place to stay, quiet, gorgeous view and garden, great for our dog. Well equipped and clean and warm. Do make sure you don't turn around at next door's farm entrance where there is wider road. Even though 1 of our party did turn there BUT making sure she didn't go on to the land of the farm it was enough to upset the farmer. We sorted it out Read morebut it is clearly a local tension. This cottage has gorgeous views and is excellently located for walks from the door, Keswick & surrounding area. It is a fantastic size for the number of bedrooms. The drying/boot room was really helpful. The one shower was really powerful. Having sinks in some of the bedrooms was helpful to minimise demand on bathrooms for number of guests. Lovely view from cottage and comfortable lounge. Disappointed with bedrooms - need updating and more storage for clothes. Bath badly stained and a proper shower needed as one shower isnt enough for 6-8 people.

A lovely welcoming cottage with incredible views, a quirky layout and lots of space to relax and store all our biking / walking gear (and lockable bike storage). We had a great stay and the cottage was very comfortable, although some of the bedroom furniture could do with upgrading. Its an easy 20 minute walk to the pub and a lovely 3.5 hour round Read moretrip to walk up Blencathra from the door. Views to die for and red squirrels in the garden. We loved it. Hide

The views are truly stunning from the lounge table and conservatory seating and the garden was very pretty. Within the quirky layout, there were plenty of spaces for smaller groupings and the lounge was a good communal space for the 6 adults in our group. The beds were comfy. We had a great week at Far Wescoe.
