Bassenthwaite Lake and Lakes Distillery are within 8 miles, and Keswick is only 17 miles away offering an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants, and a theatre. This area offers the perfect base to explore the Northern Lakes; the magnificent fells and peaks of Blencathra and Skiddaw are close by offering great walking opportunities. Visit Whinlatter Forest and follow the Gruffalo trail – it’s also a great place for mountain biking. The local area is a haven for mountaineering, rock climbing, horse riding, paragliding, and there’s a wide selection of water sports on offer including windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. The Lakes Wildlife Park is only 10 miles away offering a fun day out for all the family. Even on a wet day, there’s plenty to do; visit the Aquarium at Maryport, try the indoor climbing walls at Keswick or book a spa day and chill.

Entering the property, you will walk into the contemporary, stylish kitchen with its island and breakfast bar area; this room offers a fabulous space to get together and catch up over a glass of wine. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and a washer/dryer. There is a handy WC off the kitchen next to the back door. The lounge follows through from the kitchen and offers a real haven in which to kick back and relax after a busy day exploring. The attention to detail in this house does not go unnoticed; there is a lovely fireplace with a beam mantle and a wood-burner effect electric fire. The mix of contemporary styling with the original features, such as the cast-iron radiators and beams, gives this property a high-end finish. There are comfortable sofas and a dining area to the rear of the room. Head back into the kitchen and head up the stairs to the first floor. Here, you will find three bedrooms: a pretty twin bedroom with an original feature fireplace, a double with a low cottage window and views over the village, and a king size bedroom with an en-suite shower and WC – this bedroom has views over the open fields. Finally, there is a family bathroom along the landing with a bath, separate walk-in shower and WC.

Outside, there is a private drive that offers ample private parking for up to three cars and there is a raised garden with a lawn and seating area overlooking the fields.
