This amazing property is ideally situated for making the most of everything on offer in this beautiful corner of the South Lakes. Take a ride through the rolling countryside on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway (1 mile), visit the popular Lakeland Motor Museum (0.5 miles), or enjoy a peaceful walk along the River Leven. Ulverston Safari Zoo (11 miles) is a must for all ages, or why not head south to the coast for a day at the seaside. Just a few miles away from neighbouring village Newby Bridge is the southern tip of Windermere, England’s longest lake and a hugely popular Lake District destination at Lakeside (3 miles). Hop aboard a vessel with Windermere Steamers for a tranquil and relaxed exploration of the water and head up to Bowness (9 miles) or Ambleside (14.5 miles).

Walking into this traditional Lakeland property you will feel relaxed and ready for your holiday. First is the porch area, perfect for those muddy boots and for hanging your coats and dog gear. The open-plan living area is the hub of the house with three sofas surrounding the wood burner and Smart TV, with Sky TV and BT sports. It is the perfect base to chill and relax after a day exploring this picturesque region. The dining area is equipped with oak table and chairs and has plenty of space for a family feast. Head on through to the kitchen which has lovely views out across the garden. Here there is an electric oven and hob, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge/freezer. Up to the first floor, you’ll find the main bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC, plus a twin bedroom. On the second floor there’s the main bedroom with double bed and en-suite WC and finally the super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into a twin on request).

There are plenty of seating spots throughout the steep, stepped, enclosed garden area to enjoy those amazing views. There is a patio area outside the kitchen, or head up to the top for another vantage point. There is also a small stream running through the garden. There is private parking for two cars with an electric hook up. Cyclists can store their bikes in the lockable shed. Cascades Leisure Centre will be closed for maintenance work on 6th January 2025 and re-opening 20th January 2025

Top marks for a lovely cottage!! The generous hamper was much appreciated as were the extras provided in the fridge.the well maintained garden was put to good use especially as the weather was so favourable and a daily trip to to gym was a bonus.

Everything was brilliant. Lovely cosy cottage, with everything you need for a lovely break. Lots of books, games, and TV channels, logs/coal. Good location to explore the area. Sadly we wont be returning to this property. Details didnt tell or show you the running water outside the back door. I managed to grab dogs collar before he ventured down the deep drop to the stream. An accident waiting to happen as a child could hurt themselves or worse. Garden not dog secure, our rescue terrier went walk abouts! What a lovely place to stay. The welcome basket was the best that we had ever received and was a great start to the holiday. As we went in winter a lot of the attractions in the local area were closed, but we did lots of the local dog walks and found a pub or two. Great little cottage, superb welcome pack. Easy access to central Lakes with plenty of small local walks. The free pass to the leisure facilities at the local hotel which was a short walk away provided pool, gym, jacuzzi, table tennis etc which made the difference for a wet day. Highly recommend.

This is our second visit to this cottage. We all had a lovely time. Very well equipped kitchen, with everything a family might need. My husband enjoys sitting out in the garden watching the bees and listening to the natural stream. Loads of places to visit just on the doorstep. I would recommend this cottage to family and friends.

Absolutely fabulous stay. The cottage was exceptionally clean and so well equipped and thought out. The welcome basket was so generous along with items in the fridge. It was super cosy with plenty of fire wood for the evenings. The cottage is only 20 minutes from beautiful Windermere. We didnt want to leave and would definitely return.

The cottage went way above our expectations, the location was perfect not too far away from the centre of Windermere lake but close enough to access the attractions and lake cruises at Lakeside. Some places claim to be dog friendly but this really was - with treats, a bowl and lead and of course a safe enclosed garden. The gym and swimming pool was a lovely addition and was verRead morey quiet on the occasions we went. We would whole heartedly recommend a stay at the Robin's Nest if visiting this part of the Lakes.
