Perfectly located in the pretty village of Glenridding, which sits on beautiful Ullswater, with country pubs serving good food and local beer, and hotels overlooking the Lake serving fabulous cream teas, all within walking distance. Get out and explore the fells, or tackle Helvellyn right from the front door. Aira Force Waterfalls is just down the road, and Ullswater Steamers depart just a short walk from the house. If you are a keen walker, cyclist or water sports enthusiast then this is the perfect base for you! Take a boat from the village, leave the boat at Howtown, and you can walk to Pooley Bridge and catch the boat back to Glenridding. This was one of Wordsworth's favourite walks and offers views of Ullswater and Helvellyn.

This pretty Lakeland cottage has been lovingly finished and offers a warm welcome. As you walk into the modern well-equipped kitchen you will find an induction hob, electric fan oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a dining area in the kitchen where you can sit down over breakfast and plan the day ahead! Next door you will find the lounge with comfy sofa and chairs, log burner, TV with Sky box sets and Sonos music system. Head out of the lounge and you will find the staircase up to the first floor and access out to the south-facing enclosed garden. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms. A king-size master bedroom with a z-bed which is suitable for children under 12 years (additional charges apply). The second bedroom is a twin bedroom. There is a contemporary family bathroom that features a free-standing claw-foot bath with shower over and WC.

The lovely private enclosed south-facing garden is a super spot to sit out and have a coffee first thing, read a good book, or sit and enjoy a glass of wine on a summer's evening. There is private parking for one car just 15 metres from the property: access is tight and may not be suitable for large vehicles.

Lovely cosy cottage for a stay in Ullswater; close to shops, cafes, pubs. Great for walking around the area straight from the cottage. Perfect for a small family of 3 plus dog; outside area was small but fine for sitting with a book or cup of tea - semi private as joins next door with a low gate;

Well equipped, clean and modern. It was a pleasure to stay, and the scenery and walks are stunning. We found the parking space a great asset to have and I can imagine the enclosed back yard being very pleasurable in summer months.

A lovely cottage inside and out, and, in an amazing position in the centre of the village, very handy for pubs and cafes and of course the lake. We will definitely be back!

The cottage made an excellent base for a weeks walking. There are far more positives than negatives, but there were a few minor issues that could and probably should be remedied for the cottage to be really top rated. On the plus side, the kitchen and bathroom were great (apart from the kitchen table which really neds replacing). The WiFi works welRead morel. The position is fabulous. However general upgrades including to the decoration and to some furnishings are in order. Hide

Tonkin Cottage is in a beautiful setting with a perfect location for accessing the trails. It's within walking distance to restaurants, pubs, 2 food marts and the bus stop. The updated ottage is clean and comfortable with a modern kitchen and bathroom. We were pleasantly surprised that the cottage provided many basic needs such as hand soap, laundrRead morey detergent, dishwasher tablets and cooking supplies. The stairs are slightly steep but not a problem. We would love to return. Hide
