With plenty to see and do right on the doorstep, set out on foot to explore bustling Bowness with its vast array of shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, cinema, and World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. Less than half a mile from the property, Lake Windermere itself has something for everyone, from lakeside picnics to steamer cruises, an aquarium, canoe and rowing boat hire and a spectacular choice of lakeside walks for four-legged friends. Take the car ferry across to Hill Top House, 3.5 miles away, the beautifully conserved former home of Beatrix Potter and continue to traffic-free Hawkshead, 5.5 miles away, with its whitewashed houses and charming cafes. Visit the smaller peaceful lake of Grasmere, 8 miles away, being sure to sample some of its famous gingerbread, together with neighbouring Ambleside, home to shops, restaurants, a cinema and one of the most photographed houses in the Lake District.

Inside, this spacious and stylish property offers fresh neutral decor, a homely feel and sociable layout. Designed to make the most of its enviably elevated position, the open-plan living accommodation is on the second floor. At one end, a modern kitchen area looks out over the Fairfield fells and is fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. After dining at the round table, relax and unwind on one of the two sofas as you watch the sun setting over the fells or make the most of the Freeview TV. From here, sliding doors open onto the south-facing balcony - a wonderful spot to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or evening aperitif. On the first floor are the two tastefully presented bedrooms, one king-size and one super-king-size, together with the family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Continuing downstairs, on the ground floor a shower room doubles up as a useful utility area housing the washing machine and tumble dryer - perfect for drying off wet boots and paws, too.

Outside, a delightful enclosed rear patio garden with table and chairs is a pleasant spot for al fresco dining. There are two private parking spaces to the front of the cottage, plus an integral garage with an airer for drying outdoor clothes and space for storing bikes.

Wonderfull quality property, spotlessly clean.Super quality bedding and towels.Beatiful kitchen superbly equipped and beatiful views from the kitchan on the back and balcony on the front.Central and convenient but peacefully located. This is the second time we have stayed here. The first time was extremely hot and the second extremely wet! Both times the house was perfect. It is clear there have been updates and its all kept to a high standard. The views are beautiful and the location ideal. A super holiday let, so clean and well equipped, it had everything we needed. The views, especially from the kitchen window, were a constant delight throughout the week. Set back but so convenient for the Bowness shops and bus stops. It was great to have two parking spaces. We used the 599 bus service every day to access walks at Windermere, AmblesRead moreide and Grasmere so didn't need the car. Easy walk to the lake and the ferry services. Definitely recommend Windermere Jetty Museum cafe. Hide

Wonderful property, spotlessly clean, well furnished and very well equipped, and a comfy bed. Fabulous views and great balcony. Very central so convenient for shops, restaurants, take-away's, pubs, and the Lake but on a quiet road. This is an amazing place. Only a short walk from the heart of Bowness and all that has to offer, yet fully equipped to cater from home should you wish. Real highlights were the balcony; views from every window; the utility room and spacious garage for drying wet clothes. Crow's nest is ideal for so many reasons : position within Bowness but also to explore the area, the facilities in the house are exceptional, the quality of the beds and kitchen items were amazing. Have had a fabulous week in house, weather has been great. Everything was there in the kitchen that we needed. Lovely and clean. Comfortable beds, nice quiet location, lovely views from kitchen and living room window. Downside it's up a wee hill if your fit that's good but unfortunately I'm not but never the less I got my daughter to bring the car Read moredown to take me back up.
