If you want a break from cooking, Allonby boasts two pubs serving meals and a takeaway, plus a general store and off licence, which also sells fabulous ice cream. Birdwatchers and nature lovers should head to the RSPB reserve at Campfield Marsh, 20 miles away. As is the beautiful town of Keswick, sitting on the edge of Derwentwater, with it's many tourist attractions. Gather everyone together in the dining room for sociable mealtimes before heading to relax in the light and serene living room, with lovely views to the sea. Our only niggles were we had to wash a lot of things up before we could use them, the tea towels didnt smell great and the knives were very blunt, we didnt find a sharpener. But it was a beautiful, characterful house, we were very content there and the location next to the massive, beautiful beach was ideal for walking the dog. Not too far from theRead more lakes so it was a bonus to have sea, and lakes and mountains all accessible. Thank you for our lovely family holiday. Hide

There were 4 of us with 2 dogs and so plenty of space. Very, very comfortable in the house with easy parking in front. Two main bedrooms had great sea views. Ideal for beach access. House was perfectly presented so thank you.

The property was clean and tidy, ideal for beach days with the beach being within a couple of minutes walk, just over the road in fact, with a cafe, park and other facilities close by. Free parking a bonus as we had four vehicles. We had a very relaxing family holiday.
