If you want to visit the beach, Exmouth, Sidmouth and Branscombe are well worth a visit for a swim or dog walk. Closer to home, the town of Tiverton boasts a pretty canal and from here you can hire a horse drawn barge or visit The National Trust properties in the area including Killerton and Knightshayes. Bickleigh offers The Devon Steam Railway and Mill for family fun. Exeter ( 18 miles ) offers bespoke shops, eateries and the lovely Cathedral. You can hire cycles and kayaks to explore the paths and estuaries direct from the bustling quay in the middle of town. From coast to moor, the winding tracks and trails which zig-zag their way across Exmoor National Park are perfect for dramatic hikes with breathtaking rugged views. Enjoy a pitstop in Dulverton (11.5 miles) en route and pick up delicious picnic goodies which you can enjoy at Landacre Bridge (22 miles).
