This lovely lodge is nestled close to the banks of the splendid Loch Leven, where you can enjoy a boat trip over to the tiny island on the Loch, home of the historic Loch Leven Castle where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567, until her escape 11 months later. The loch is also a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, being home to RSPB Loch Leven centre, part of the word-famous Loch Leven National Nature Reserve, which is one of Europe’s most significant sites for birds. Explore the Loch Leven Heritage Trail with an 11-mile circular route and anglers can enjoy trout fishing at Loch Leven. Golfers will be delighted with an array of local courses, with the world-renowned Gleneagles and The Old Course within easy reach.

Step inside this lovely detached single-storey lodge into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Relax in the comfortable lounge area after a day out exploring the beautiful local area and enjoy a great movie on the TV, or just sit back and admire the bonnie glen views. There are also French doors in the lounge leading directly out to the balcony. Cook up a storm in the kitchen with electric oven and gas hob, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. Next is the comfortable dining area for romantic or family gatherings. Continuing to the rear of the lodge, there is a pretty double bedroom and a cosy twin bedroom, both with ample storage space. Completing the accommodation is the shower room, with shower and WC.

Venturing outside there is a balcony with seating area for al fresco dining and lazy evening stargazing perhaps with a wee dram, good local ale, or nice glass of wine. Bike storage and a washing machine are available. There is ample off-road parking available at the side of the lodge.

A very clean and well presented lodge, the only disturbance is the road noise, otherwise it is incredibly peaceful.

Excellent location for an active holiday. Peaceful location, uninterrupted views, comfortable and warm accommodation. Aware of road noise which can be a nuisance in the early hours but perfectly liveable with as we are not talking the M25 or even the A1! So much to do in the area too.

This is a perfect base from which to visit the surrounding area. Placed on the edge of Loch Leven, it is less than 5 minutes from the perimeter track, and half a mile from the RSPB visitors' centre. The lodge is clean and towels are provided. There is no fire but the lodge heats up in minutes. Fridge, microwave, gas hob and electric oven is provideRead mored, along with toaster and kettle. There isn't a washing machine nor drying room but there is plenty of radiator space. Would we go back: in heartbeat! Hide

Well equipped and a cosy, very comfortable lodge with a fine outlook. From the door, quick and easy foot access to the loch-side and a few minutes walk along the track to the RSPB visitor centre and birding hides. On warm days, great views of the gliders rising on thermals around the nearby Lomond Hills

This is a well equipped lodge. Lovely and quiet area. The lodge is lovely and you feel it exudes peace and calm. I loved that it was dog friendly. I highly recommend the local area for lovely walks. The lodge was clean. The beds were comfy and there was loads of extra linen if needed and plenty of storage space. I would have liked a dog gate on theRead more patio as we have a puppy who is still learning about his environment we just used the clothes airer and two of the patio chairs as a deterrent Hide

A very nice lodge in a beautiful setting. Exceptionally clean with everything we needed. Need to be aware of busy road just to rear. Noise cannot be heard inside unless windows open or sitting outside. Dog friendly and we had a lovely holiday with our dog. Excellent breakfast at the cafe.
