The amazing Kielder Water and Forest are on your doorstep to explore, go for walks in the peaceful forest, enjoy bike rides and try your hand at a variety of water sports and other activities. This is an official International Dark Sky Park and so a night-time visit to the Kielder Observatory to gaze at the Milky Way is a must! You can visit Bellingham, the gateway town to Kielder where you can sample the delights of the pubs, shops and café, or enjoy a round of golf at the local golf course. For days’ out further afield visit Hadrian’s Wall Country and the unspoilt Northumberland coastline with splendid sandy beaches to explore, including Bamburgh and Lindisfarne. You are also perfectly positioned to explore the Scottish Borders with the historic town of Jedburgh within easy reach.
Access is at front of house into the hallway with a useful shoe cupboard, follow the hallway to the kitchen/diner where you have everything you need and more to prepare a delicious meal when you get back from a day of exploration, including an induction hob, an eye-level double electric oven with a separate grill, fridge freezer, slow cooker and air fryer. There is also a microwave, coffee machine and a cafetiere. The large dining table sits in front of a feature wood burner fireplace, a lovely setting for good food and conversation. Leading from the kitchen is the utility area with a washing machine and tumble dryer, a collection of picnic ware for you to use, along with a dedicated dog’s cupboard with blankets, towels and toys to ensure your furry friend has a wonderful stay! From the kitchen, patio doors lead you out into the rear garden and patio areas. Outside the generous garden offers a variety of areas to sit back and relax. There is comfortable seating and a patio table and chairs where you can extend your day and enjoy a drink, or an al fresco meal cooked on the BBQ all while taking in the breath-taking dark skies that Kielder is so famous for. Back in the house and down the hallway, you come to the lounge with dual aspect windows and views of the rear garden and stunning forest beyond. Head into the spacious lounge where you can relax on comfortable seating after your days out exploring the area. Allow yourself to unwind in front of the warming wood burner. There is a Smart TV for entertainment, books to browse and some fun family games plus a Wii to play during your stay. There is also a ground-floor shower room. Upstairs you will find the three bedrooms; each with a hair dryer. The light and airy master bedroom has a king-size bed and en-suite shower room with shower cubicle, jacuzzi bath and WC. The second bedroom, also a king-size, has plenty of storage for your things. The third bedroom has small twin single beds. High quality towels and bedding make nights in the comfy beds a happy home from home feeling. The modern family bathroom features a 'P' shaped bath with shower over and WC.
Don’t forget to bring your bikes as there is secure cycle storage in the garden (or you can rent bikes from the local bike shop). There is parking for one car opposite the house plus free, additional parking in the school car park or along the quiet road leading towards the village castle and pub.
