Set within the rolling hills of Northumberland, this former blacksmith's shop offers a quality retreat on a traditional working farm at High Staward. Ideal for couples or small groups seeking adventure in the countryside for a weekend getaway, the location provides excellent access to walking routes and cycling spots. Just a few miles away, you can find the Roman fort sites of Housesteads and Vindolanda, along with impressive sections of Hadrian's Wall that remain intact. The country cottage-style kitchen comes fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and tumble dryer, alongside a dining table perfect for enjoying home-cooked meals. The lounge features a large corner sofa, wall-mounted Smart TV, and a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings in. The accommodation offers two bedrooms - one king-size and one twin that can be converted to a super-king upon request - plus a shower room with WC. Both bedroom and bathroom facilities are conveniently located on the ground floor.

The private patio area provides outdoor seating where guests can enjoy countryside views and their own hot tub - a perfect spot for relaxation after a day of adventures. The property offers on-site parking with electric vehicle charging available at additional cost.

Great place to stay for a holiday, we were there for a few days but could have stayed much longer. The blacksmiths building history and tools were a great touch and the hot tub gave it the extra special feel. Fab views and location is good to easily get to the Pennines and Hadrians Wall. Would defo return.

This is a very clever conversion from a blacksmiths shop which provides very cosy warm accommodation. The area is stunning and there are so many things to see and do. The local pub is great and whilst you will feel remote there are towns nearby with everything you will need. Overall this is a really good cottage.
