Located midway between Buxton and Bakewell, this spot makes a perfect base from which to explore the two towns and surrounding areas. There are many excellent picturesque walks from the doorstep, nearby Monsal Dale, with its famous trail, Millers Dale and High Dale, only a short walk away. Walkers can enjoy spectacular views and the opportunity to observe an abundance of wildflowers, animals and birdlife. For those seeking the grandeur of the English country houses, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are just a short drive from the property, make sure you stop and visit the popular Chatsworth Farm Shop and stock up on goodies.

Step into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner and you will see this stone-built cottage has retained its original charm with all the comforts we need for a contemporary day to day life. The kitchen area offers an electric oven and hob, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher and washing machine. Enjoy taking your time over breakfast at the nearby dining table or relax and pop your feet up in the lounge area, with comfy sofa, light the wood burner and curl up in front of the Smart TV, watch one of the DVDs provided or read one of the books. Heading up the open metal staircase to the first floor, the master bedroom offers a king-size bed with Emma memory foam pillows and a TV/DVD, a perfect excuse for a long lay in. The nearby second bedroom offers a single bed. Get ready for the day ahead in the wet room with shower, WC and non-slip flooring.

Outside the split level enclosed courtyard garden is an ideal place to relax, there is a picnic bench on the sunken level which is perfect for dining alfresco in the summer sun. Accessed by a small number of steps there is a higher level with a bench, a perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee. There is an off-road parking space directly in front of the cottage and additional roadside parking if needed on the nearby lane, subject to availability.

The cottage is excellent in every respect. The location is very quiet and tranquil and is in an excellent position for exploring the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. Access is easy with off road parking immediately outside. All the contents are of high quality and the chairs are very comfortable in plenty of space. Second time we have stayed here and for a quiet get away is ideally located between Bakewell and Buxton. A well equipped little cottage with a nice sunny area to rear to eat outside. Lots of good traditional pubs a short distance away as well as a pub in the village which is just a few minutes up the road. What a wonderful cottage! Location, tick. Comfort of sofa and bed, tick. Shower, tick. Kitchen utensils, pots and pans, tick tick (the saucepans and glass dishes were so spotless I suspect they were new, and the oven was nice and clean). We did several lovely walks on the footpaths around the village and enjoyed sitting with a cuppa in the garden cRead moreatching the afternoon sun. Nice clean cottage with everything we needed for our weeks stay.. The neighbours were very friendly and the village pub was very welcoming. We had an issue whilst staying at the cottage but Su the owner got it sorted very quickly. Goid location for Buxton, Bakewell, Minsal trail etc. Excellent bus service goes through the village.

A very attractive cottage in a peaceful and very quiet setting on the edge of an old interesting village. It is an excellent area for local walking as well as being a short drive from Bakewell and Buxton. The surrounding countryside is beautiful.
