With the highest mountain of the British Isles just 10 miles away, for walking, hiking or climbing enthusiasts there are unmissable views at your doorstep. If you fancy appreciating your surroundings from a safe distance, then why not board the Jacobite steam train for a fun Highlands adventure. Another great walking opportunity is the Great Glen Way, which is a trail spanning 125km of incredible scenery. For a cultural experience, head to Fort Williams just 7 miles away where you'll find plenty of shops and eateries to explore. Historical sites such as the Old Inverlocky Castle are well worth a visit as there's much to learn about this captivating part of Scotland.

Built in the 1870s as a fishing lodge, this property has been renovated with impressive attention to detail. Upon entering, you will find yourself in a conservatory porch with a heated drying cupboard to hang up damp coats. There are several reception rooms each decorated with beautiful antique furnishings and with large bay windows so that the light floods in. Starting with the morning room, which has an open fire and comfy sofas so you can enjoy a cup of tea with lovely views. For evening entertainment head to the sitting room which has a TV and an open fire to keep you toasty warm. You will also find a drawing room with an open fire and a study with a TV and desk area. Perfect for entertaining guests, the dining room has a large mahogany table so you can eat in style amongst the sumptuous decor. The kitchen shows a rustic side, with a long farmhouse table for relaxed eating, and an AGA-style oven, microwave and freezer so you can make simple snacks or grand feasts. You will also find a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, a pantry with a dishwasher and a fridge, a dog's room with a sink and a cloakroom with a WC. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with a Jacobean four-poster bed to sink back into after a day of adventures and a stylish en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower and WC. There are also two comfortably decorated king-size bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms with a shower over the bath and WC. Four light and airy twin bedrooms and two family bathrooms with a shower over the bath and WC complete the upstairs.

In addition to 5 acres of informal grounds, there is a large paved terrace along the front of the house with a seating area that overlooks the river for scenic al fresco dining. Steps lead down from the terrace to a pathway leading to the riverbank.

A perfect holiday home for our family get together. The house was in a beautiful setting, very spacious, lovely rooms, very will equipped kitchens. Dining room was lovely and spacious for us all, and the well behaved doggies had a great time too. We would certainly visit again, it felt remote, yet only 5/10 minutes into Fort William for all the conRead morevenience of town, food, dining, shopping, boat trips.
