Amenities including farm shop, delicatessen, general grocers, post office, several cafes and charming pubs are all close by. There are many walking routes from the village, which is nestled at the entrance to Edale, between Win Hill and Lose Hill. Challenging hills, gentle paths following winding rivers and options to follow the ancient packhorse routes and medieval footways. Explore the local area; the picture postcard village of Castleton with its famed Blue John caverns, Norman Keep and other attractions is nearby. This village boasts six country pubs and several cafes, as well as jewellery and gift shops. Close by is Hathersage, with its Bronte connections, striking moorlands and gritstone ridgelines. Also, the three Derwent reservoirs including Ladybower and its connections with the WWII Dambusters preparations. And, of course the beautiful Chatsworth House estate and the historic village of Eyam. Unusually for the  Peak District Hope benefits from its own railway station on the scenic Sheffield to Manchester line.

Stepping into the cottage the beautiful lounge welcomes you with open arms, with its own special ambience, boasting a feature stone fireplace with a delightful wood burner. It’s the perfect place to unwind on the comfortable sofa warmed by the glow of the fire and perhaps watching something on the Smart TV. The well thought out kitchen/diner is fully equipped and includes integrated appliances such as an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. It is a pleasure to cook or just enjoy a snack and have a drink while sitting at the oak-topped breakfast bar. There are two bedrooms, one with a super-king-sized bed in a bright and airy room. The other is a standard size double in a charming room with unique features. A bright and airy bathroom provides the option of an invigorating shower or relaxing bath, ideal if you like a long soak after a day exploring the glorious peak district.

Outside there is a small courtyard with seating, ideal for a morning coffee or evening drinks. There is free roadside parking outside the cottage.

Lovely well equipped, comfortable cottage in a great location for walking in the Peaks. The little garden is a sun trap - an added bonus if the weather is fine.

Everything was immaculate and we didn't want for anything. I'd definately stay here again and again. Excellent location and really well looked after, you can see there is love and care put into the cottage and the energy of the place was lovely. It really felt homely and calm and cosy. You can tell the owners don't let the place get tired looking aRead morend are on top of maintaining it to a massively high standard. If I was rich I'd stay here every weekend. Thankyou so much for having us. Hide
