This lovely country cottage offers the best of both worlds because it comes fully-equipped with up-to-date fixtures and fittings, as well as retaining a rustic feel throughout. All of its closest amenities are found in Godshill, just over a mile to the west and home to tea rooms, one or two pubs, restaurants, and shops. The village contains Godshill Model Village and Gardens, which is one of the Isle of Wight’s best-loved visitor attractions. A few miles further south lies the interesting town of Ventnor. Ventnor boasts some of the island’s best eateries and a small sandy beach that faces in a southerly direction. Getting the best of the good weather the sheltered coast soaks up the thermals and during summer is a sunbathing hotspot. Stop by Ventnor’s Botanical Gardens if you like to see exotic plants and trees. Roud is within a short distance of the island’s major cross-country routes so you can easily connect with larger towns like Shanklin and Newport.

A gently sloping drive leads you to the property. On entering the property there is a spacious hall with a shower room and WC leading off it as well as a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. An inner hall leads to the delightful kitchen, equipped with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer, and to a large sitting room with windows overlooking the lovely garden, comfortable seating, a wood burning stove and a large TV and DVD player allowing for cosy evenings together. Three steps lead down to a lovely dining room with a door opening onto a patio in the garden. From the drive, a gate leads into a fenced front garden. The handy kitchen comes fully-equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, and a fridge/freezer. There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Also, on the ground floor is the bathroom, containing a shower and WC. Upstairs on the first floor you will find the cottages’ three bedrooms: one double, one twin, and one bunkroom (which is spacious enough to accommodate an adult on the lower bed.) Nearby on the first floor is a bathroom with bath and WC for convenience.

Step outside and you will find the charming fenced front garden. There's also a large back garden with space to run around in the open space. There is a parking space for one car outside of the property on the shared sloping driveway.

This is a great place to stay, which is why we have stayed here several times - the cottage is in a peaceful location, well equipped and comfortably furnished. The cottage is beautiful and has everything you need. We loved the little touches like tea, coffee, milk and gingerbread on arrival and plenty of cushions and throws to make evenings in warm and cosy.

A great comfortable and well equipped cottage in a rural location ideal for exploring the island. Despite bad weather on mainland we had a surprisingly dry and mild week during the day with most of the heavy rain overnights. Large garden with with tables and chairs but sadly not warm enough to enjoy.

Lovely place to stay, very quiet and secluded, easy to get everywhere on the island. Well proportioned spaces and well equipped. Steep staircase but good bannister and handle mean its ok.

We have stayed at the cottage level times and will be going back. An ideal place to relax, and the location is excellent and allows easy access across the IoW. A very comfortable and well equipped cottage with a superb and enclosed garden enjoyed by us and our dog!

First class stay, ideal for my 90 year old Mother who was able to use the walk in shower downstairs. Fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds and spotlessly clean and warm. Highly recommend.
