This delightful cottage is ideally situated within a few minutes walk of the sea in Gurnard. Here you can enjoy paddling, swimming, boating or relaxing on a beautiful quiet beach. A popular local cafe, 'The Gurnard Press' and nearby village pubs provide refreshments. There is easy access to the western side of the island with its tranquil sandy coves, or you could visit the nearby Newtown National Nature Reserve – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A wonderful area to enjoy breathtaking walks or for a spot of bird watching. The popular town of Cowes is a short drive away or 30 minute walk along the seafront promenade. Cowes is a small-town, famous as a sailing centre with cobbled streets, lovely small shops and a choice of great restaurants.

This uniquely designed detached house is clad in Siberian Larch and offers lovely sea views from many of the rooms. On entering a front hallway opens into a beautifully furnished large dining room where you can enjoy family meals, next to the windows overlooking the garden. The Dining Room is open to the light and airy lounge with its above ceiling height windows, allowing you to feel like you are outside while in complete comfort. The lounge features comfy seating, Smart TV/DVD, a traditional wood burner and glimpses of the sea. A large glass door opens out onto the terrace. In the kitchen, you will find it fully equipped with a gas hob, double oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and air fryer. The washing machine and tumble dryer are housed in a separate utility room next to a ground-floor WC. Exploring the ground floor further you will find a double bedroom with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom complete with shower over the bath and a WC. Going up to the first floor the first thing you will see are the large windows overlooking the sea. Here you can relax and watch the yachts and boats passing or curl up with a good book. Adjoining this room is a balcony which is an attractive spot to sit in on warm evenings. On the first floor you will find two further cosy bedrooms, each with en-suite shower rooms. One of which is a twin room perfectly accommodated for children, with its own small balcony. The second one is a double room with a king-size bed and sea views. An additional folding bed can also be provided if the travel cot has not been requested.
 
Stepping outside, you can relax in the secluded fenced garden which has a sunny terrace with garden furniture and a gas BBQ so you can enjoy dining al fresco.  Parking is available for two cars. The property also has a Chargemaster unit installed, which you can arrange to use via the owner, so guests with electric cars can charge them with ease.

High Rising House is brilliant. This very spacious and comfortable 3 bedroomed house all with en-suite is a great find. There is more than enough space for 6 adults and the views are to die for. Anyone with very young children should perhaps think twice as the sitting room is about 2 foot lower than the rest of the room making it an easy hazard forRead more fall. Lovely house in a convenient location. Upstairs landing has a wonderful view down to the water where you can watch the boats going by. Weather wasn't on our side on our week, but there is a secluded garden with seating outside. We did see one red squirrel scoot across the road as we were coming back one day. Comfortable house with a view to the sea. Easy to reach Gurnard sea front either walking or by car. Also a pleasant walk along the sea front into Cowes.

This house is impressive. We have never stayed anywhere like it. It is full of loads of interesting architectural features, with underfloor heating, high quality accessories, and interesting lighting. The owners have kept it very well maintained. A comfortable place to spend a wet week!

Lovely house,very well equipped,clean and tidy.Lovely location and quiet.Did message owner at the end of our stay to make them aware of a strong musty smell in the twin bedded bedroom, when in the property our son had all the windows opened to help elevate this, owner responded quickly and that he would investigate this( hopefully nothing to major Read moreand sorted before next guests arrive)didnt spoil our week away. We absolutely loved this place. It was larger than we needed, but so glad we chose it. It was very clean and well looked after, well equipped and had everything you could possibly need. We loved all the books! The rooms were all lovely and the garden is beautiful. The views across the Solent were great and we saw a few lovely sunsets. The location Read moreis good and Gurnard is a very nice area. It was also nice that the owners checked in with us to make sure all was well. Would definitely recommend. Hide

Highrising is in a good location. Wonderful views, red squirrels in the garden. Within walking distance of shop, good pub , and the beach. Theres plenty of space for 6 people . The island is full of interesting places to visit, we very much enjoyed our holiday.

A superb property in every respect. The decor and furniture are entirely in keeping with the open design of the house. The well established garden provides a cool relaxing space for barbecue and a sundowner .
