The Isle of Wight has many wonderful beaches for visitors to enjoy, and guests staying at this property have one of these, Brighstone Beach, right on their doorstep. This sand and shingle beach benefits from the warm climate of the Isle of Wight’s south coast and is a fantastic place to enjoy sunbathing, paddling, and swimming. The beach here is relatively undeveloped, making it a good choice for a quieter day by the sea. For those who prefer to have a choice of eateries, shops, and entertainment during their day at the sea, there is plenty of choice within short driving distance, including the popular beaches at Alum Bay, Ventnor, and Shanklin.

The cottage is set in a small courtyard of five cottages. Two shallow steps lead across a patio area at the front of this property to the front door, and once inside guests will find the spacious open-plan living area. This dual-aspect lounge/diner is a light-filled space with patio doors at one end which open onto the patio and shared lawn. There is a dining table seating six, as well as comfortable leather seating, a Smart TV/DVD, DAB radio and a coal-effect electric fire. Moving through to the kitchen, guests will find everything they need, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. One of the bedrooms, a delightful double room with views across the countryside towards the Downs, can also be found on the ground floor, as can the shower room with its walk-in shower and WC. The remaining two bedrooms can be found on the first floor. The first of these is the master bedroom, a double room which benefits from a small private balcony and an en-suite shower room with shower and WC. The third bedroom is a restful twin room.

Step outside onto a delightful patio with garden furniture, where guests can enjoy alfresco drinks and meals. This area is open to a shared spacious lawn where children can enjoy playing, from where there are panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. There is off road parking next to the property for two cars.

Nice property with everything you need, on a peaceful site, lots of secluded parking space and easy access. Lovely views from the back. Steep walk opposite past caravan site to the beach, with amazing cliffs crumbling away fast. Good little shop on the way down. Village half a mile away along a footpath with shop, pub and museum. Bus service to AluRead morem Bay and Newport. Dinosaur centre nearby along the Military Road very good- check opening times. Whole area good for walks, visits and fossil hunting Hide

Lovely cottage in a stunning and quiet location. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay. Only disappointment was the garden, which was not enclosed as stated. We chose this cottage for its enclosed garden, so it was awkward with the dogs not being able to go in and out freely. We would happily return if there was Read morean enclosed garden. We would highly recommend if you dont have dogs. Hide

We had a lovely stay here, the house was comfy, clean and had everything you could possible need. The location was on the quieter side of the island, so perfect for relaxing, and yet not far away from anywhere. The beach was a lovely 5 minutes walk away and we found it the best beach. Great cottage which was well equipped for our needs travelling with 3 generations of our family. Lovely views from all aspects of the house and a short walk to the beach. Only negatives were 5pm checkin and 9.30 checkout and could do with being a bit cleaner. Great stay and we would return.

Property in a beautiful location, very clean and comfortable, very well equipped, upstairs very comfortable warm, downstairs not so much, quilt in downstairs bedroom very thin, could benefit from replacement. Radiator programmes need cancelling and resetting.

We chose Driftwood Cottage because of its reviews - and none of them was wrong! It is an ideal location - well away from crowds with magnificent views and very dark skies at night. The cottage itself was very suited to our three generations with the family upstairs and the grandparents downstairs, each group virtually self contained and with its owRead moren privacy. Driftwood is very well equipped and spacious with a separate kitchen which we really liked. It was a lovely place to come back to. Hide

Good location especially for young families as beach is so close. Shop in Brighstone village provides a good selection of odd and drink and there is plenty to do within easy reach of cottage.

We had a very enjoyable week, at this cottage. Although the kitchen is bijou, it is well equipped. Dual aspect views of countryside and sea make it especially attractive.

Although the weather was frightful, the cottage was delightful. I would definitely book this cottage again in the future. The cottage was comfy and clean with everything we needed as a family. Our pup was also made to feel welcome.

Lovely cottage in lovely position, good bedooms/lounge/furnishings. However, maintenance items (particularly in shower/kitchen) made the price difficult to justify.
