Property code: LCC71

This elegant country home is the perfect venue for holidaying with family and friends, featuring its own private annexe, plentiful parking and set in beautifully maintained gardens.

Situated in the beautiful and popular village of Cartmel, this property is within easy walking distance of the village square where you will find a clutch of excellent inns, cafes and restaurants. Special occasions are best celebrated at the three Michelin star awarded restaurant, while the nearby pubs are perfect for those restorative post-walk lunches. Set out on foot from the village to follow one of the many easy walking routes, taking in Hampsfell and its panoramic views across the Morecambe Bay as well as Grange Over Sands and Eggerslack Woods.

Step inside through the back door and leave coats, boots and bags in the large boot room before continuing through to the kitchen. Spacious and bright with shaker style units, the kitchen is well-equipped with everything you should need to prepare delicious meals during your stay. Once prepared, enjoy meals in the elegant dining room next door, where antique furniture adds a charming rustic feel and French windows allow you to spill out into the garden during the summer months. At the other side of the central hall is the bright and sunny sitting room. Decorated in muted colours with cosy soft furnishings, a charming window seat, this is a delightful room for relaxing after a long day on foot. From the main hall, stairs lead up to the first floor where there are three individually decorated bedrooms. The master double boasts a comfortable French style king-size bed and views over the green, as does the second double while the twin bedroom, which is perfect for children, has views across the garden to Hampsfell. The bedrooms share a spacious modern bathroom with shower over bath.

Set above the garage and accessed via its own entrance, a studio annexe offers a secluded space away from the rest of the house. This modern suite with pitched ceilings and Velux windows comprises a king-size bed, sitting room area with TV and shower room, perfect for couples or dependents in search of a spot of privacy while away.

While the property provides ample space for a party of 8 it should be noted that this is across both the cottage and the annex, so lounge and dining space in the cottage alone are better suited to a party of 6, especially if all adults.

Outside, a beautifully maintained garden wraps around the cottage. With dry stone walling, stone patio, raised beds and small trees, this is a calm and colourful space that catches the sun all afternoon for enjoying al fresco lunches and peaceful afternoons.
