This old pirate town is bursting with heritage, and you can explore winding streets and visit the Golden Hind Museum Ship that’s docked in the harbour – a replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship. More excellent family attractions in the area include Babbacombe Model Village, Splashdown Questwest, Torquay’s Dinosaur World, and the wonderful Paignton Zoo (all within 10 miles). Breakwater Beach, St Mary’s Bay, and Bradley Beach are all lovely spots to spend time by the sea, or you could visit the cliffs, scenic cafe, the shortest lighthouse in the UK, and the coastal fort all at Berry Head (2 miles).
As you enter this delightful, three-story coastal retreat, you have plenty of space to leave those coats and walking boots behind as you find the lounge on your left. This characterful space boasts original beams, a large window, a feature fireplace, and a Smart TV that combine to offer a quaint touch of old and new – creating a wonderful space to completely relax after busy days out.
